i just read a post now and the replies it got were less than impressive. The person was talking about his chances and stuff.People started criticising him terribly because of his use of short fors like iz..e.t.c.Yes he is wrong but the message could be passed over to such a person in a more friendly way without killing his morale. This is not fair at all and people need to be nicer.Lets all join hands and make this network a warm and friendly environment.NO REPLIES NEEDED.

wow, this is your first thread and post! I agree, but unfortunately, that's kinda how it works on here sometimes. keep in mind that CC students have a much higher acceptance rate, and much of that is probably because of constructive criticism.

why do I get a feeling you might be the person mentioned?
yes, people can be a bit harsh on here, but there are ways to avoid the nasty response.
actually spelling your words, and not asking really obvious questions are good first steps.
but you pretty much need to expect CCers to be a bit harsh and not take internet comments personally.

People on most internet boards I've been on are pretty harsh.
Besides, is it really necessary to purposely mis-spell words? If someone jumbles up their spelling so much that others can't read it, do you honestly expect a "let's hold hands!" attitude?

no it is not at all necessary.U was looking around in the SAT-ACT section and that was like the first post i saw and i honestly felt very bad for the person.

You know, CC is rather lenient compared to other non-English sites I've been =/

This world is not a nice place get used to it

What we're all basically saying is that if you make it hard for us to read your post by deliberately using IM speak or other shortcuts, we're going to be far less inclined to help. And if, on top of that, you then ask dumb questions that could easily be answered if you did some surfing on your own, you're going to get blasted.

Those of us who are virtually always helpful will get irritated by someone who wastes our time. We spend a lot of time being helpful, so bottom line, don't waste our time and we'll be perfectly pleasant!

1MX is a mean one , you should always ignore him because he doesn't know anything.
