Community Service Activities
-Glocal Missions- On weekends, a group of about twenty of us help out the homeless by making sandwiches and donating clothing (11th -12th); we would sometimes play games and make sure that they are having a great time even in their current situation
- Volunteen Program at Emory Eastside Hospital (110 hours/ 2009) I volunteered in both the Histology Department and the Joint and Spine Department. My interactions with the patients were incredible. The patients gave me the impetus to really become the heart surgeon I want to be. Just seeing that smile on a patients face gave me an unbelievable feeling that I was doing something that had a purpose. This experience truly set my goal to attend medical school and one day work at a great hospital like Emory Eastsides.
-Tae Kwon Do events (120 hours/ 2006-2009) I helped supervise that everything was running smoothly; set up and clean up; helped coach students when they were competing
- Korean-American Student Association (help make origami to sell for a charity event)
- Organized and started an independent nonprofit charity event - $700 to donate to Glocal Missions
-Weekly Math Tutor (160 hours/ 2007-2009)
