Hey guys! I applied ED to Brown with English as my first choice. Here are my stats:
-1st in class
-2390 SAT
-750 on both subject tests
-Essays: I spent a lot of time on them. My common app essay I feel like really captures me and it’s pretty unique.
-Recs: Guidance counselor rec. is probably solid, one rec is amazing, one is good but not like BOOM
-ECs: I have a lot of writing-related EC’s. I’ve won national writing awards, been published in literary magazines, and am head of the school newspaper. I have also been nationally recognized for music. I went to China one summer to teach English. I interned at a bank one summer. I have about 5 leadership positions in EC’s.
-APs taken (junior year): chem, econ macro, micro, lang, apush, calc
What do you guys think? THanks in advance!

I have no idea what your chances are, but if you wrote an honest and true application and have other options, you should just relax and trust the process. Here is a good blog about the process from a Brown student who worked in admissions.

[Stage Write: What Auditions Taught Me About Admissions | The Bruin Club Blog](Stage Write: What Auditions Taught Me About Admissions – The Bruin Club)

“Someone very recently told me that when you hand in an application, you want to feel like you have confronted yourself, found what is fundamentally you, and put it on paper in such a way that you feel like you should start writing personal statements once a week just for your own benefit. She said you want to feel so good about that application that when you send it, you strut to the mailbox blasting your Kanye, you drop it in the mailbox, and you want to shout, “BOOM! TAKE IT!” Like the champion I know you are. You should actually do this. And you’re only going to feel that way if you know you were completely honest about yourself. At that point, it doesn’t even matter what anyone else thinks about, because you’re so proud of yourself. I know when I think back to my college essay, I’m proud not because it got me into college, but because it’s a piece of writing that felt really close to my heart. If I hadn’t gotten into Brown, I would still love that essay. If you feel really great about your essay and yourself, chances are better that someone else notices you’re pretty great too.”

I’m no expert or anything, but according to your stats and EC involvement I think you have a great chance! If you love your essay/supplements, chances are they’re pretty good. Ivies are such a crap shoot, but I wish you the best of luck in the admissions process.

I also applied ED to Brown and I’m pretty friggin’ nervous lol.
