One other question, what is the difference between computer engineering and computer science? I am very fond of computers and hardware especially, but also do have an interest in software.

Why exactly are you nervous?

Don’t go into college apps being scared. Just be confident but not egocentric.

im nervous that i wont get in… i feel as if my EC’s are too weak, i can never get a leadership oppurtunity as im not the “popular” or outstandingly intelligent student…

I do think i do well in classes, I just really failed 9th grade which ruins my GPA. without 9th grade i would have a 3.8 gpa…

can you please chance me for the schools

You have a strong application across the board. Obviously michican and UVA are difficult schools to get into, but yoou have no reason to be worried. You will probably see success in most of the schools on your list, especially if you bump the SAT above 2000.

are you sure about UMD clark? that is my first choice as it’s instate and it’s a great engineering school

Hey!

You sound like a great student. Here is what I would say…:

UMD Clark (First choice) – I would say you’d get accepted, maybe a waitlist
Michigan Ann Arbor–accepted (maybe with a scholarship
UMBC–accepted
Illinois Urbana Champaign–accepted
Ohio State–accepted
U Of Washington–accepted (maybe with a scholarship)
Purdue West Lafayette–accepted
UVA-- deny (so popular…)
Virginia Tech–accepted

when u say waitlist, do you mean to the clark school? or to umd itself

and really possible scholarships to ann arbor and washington? i thought those to be reaches for me

Honestly, from what I’ve seen you’ll get accepted to all those schools. Your GPA is higher than most of their average accepted
