What does this mean?

GPA: 3.8 (I think my real GPA is somewhere around 3.4, but Naviance is telling me that my real GPA is a 3.8)

Just forget that, that was a false assumption that my GPA was lower than a 3.8

have you taken the SAT or ACT yet? It’s pretty hard to gauge without any test scores

Almost impossible to tell without test scores. Your gpa is great, but your class rank is low (although the rigor and competitiveness of your h.s. will be considered). URM will be a positive.

I believe I know what school you go to and congrats on Homecoming King! My daughter voted for you and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy so I understand. Anyway, as you
may have guessed, we are PA residents and familiar with the h.s. I am originally from Ohio and many of our relatives attended OSU, with one who went on from Ohio State football to the NFL and is a starter now. I believe you have a strong g.p.a and your out of state status and extra curricular involvement will stand out as a plus. It’s really how close your SAT or ACT scores are to OSU’s average…I believe if they are close, you have a strong shot!..but either way I would definitely apply if that is where you want to go. If you get accepted, get ready for the big Penn State vs. OSU rivalry…but I may confess, I am blue and white all the way, haha bc I have another daughter that goes there!

@greatescape Thanks for the response! I now have a ton of confidence in applying to OSU! I know my SAT scores are pretty dismal, but I’ve been taking prep courses to help me when I take it again in November. By the way, what school do you think I go to?
