I was looking at this site and almost evey student I looked at had a SAT score in the 2000s and had more ECs than i could probobly do in a lifetime.i look at their post's and i just think "ofcourse your gonna get into that ivy league school why are you even asking??" I just think ther needs to more posts for schools more realistic to the rest of world not just the handfull of rich kids with WAY too much time on their hands or freakishly, insanly smart kids who know they can get into any school if they tried.

So any way i'm look ing at schools like GT, U Florida, Penn State, Virginia Tech and UT austin.
-ACT:28, SAT 1760 (but will retake it) Math 620 CR 560 WRIT 580
-GPA: 3.8 unweighted. i think like a 4.4 weighted at a NORMAL high school in atlanta in the top 10% of class
- ECs: French clud JV track and field, Tennis, KISS,Mu ALpha Theta,Key club. National Honor Roll all 3 years so far. Some community service (like 3 hours) and theres more
-All honors classes and some APs. Will take AP Calc, econ,Gov and Lang next year.
Thanks

probably rejected from GT, UF, VT, and UT austin
probably in at Penn State
good lucK!

If your scores were a bit higher and if you pulled off a really nice essay/recs I’d say you have a chance for GT… UF probably not unless you have a hook of some sort - they don’t like recruiting white males at my high school…

I don’t know about the rest. I got into GT but not UF…

I’d say you need to pick some safties, too. Those are of similar caliber.

GT: pull up your SAT scores to improve your chances
U Florida: don’t know much about it
Penn State-probably a reach…
Virginia Tech: You might have a slight chance…i mean they accept like 70% of their applicants, but if you pull up you sat score…you will have an even better chance.
UT austin: Don’t know about
If you pull up your sat score, these some of these school might be matches for you. Like dshinka said, you should really dig out some safety schools. Good Luck!!!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/740556-chance-average-indian.html

sryy…did you mean Georgia Tech or Georgetown??

I meant Georgia Tech and i’m a black female so maybe that will help. i’ll can chance you back.

I would say UT Austin and Penn State you are in, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech you have a really good shot, especially if you take the SAT again. I would also advise getting some more community service if you can. Good Luck!!! btw, glad you are a real student, I agree with you how everyone on here is asking to be chanced for ives- there are other schools.

Chance Me!!! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/740600-chances-tufts-holy-cross-bc-any-input-welcome.html

Well I think for the field of Engineering, women and blacks are unfortunately minorities (I consider my engineering school - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology), so that should help you get in a little bit to those schools if you declare an engineering major…
