I feel like if I transfer I’ll miss college life and also since where u go for undergrad isn’t that important for grad I rather go where I can go. Besides economy sucks and that new policy for 2012 might affect transfer students also :(</p>

<p>I think even though you have a low GPA, theres a dramatic upward trend in your grades, so they might see something in that. Same with your SAT. I think you have a fairly good chance, I know a LOT of people at my school who have been accepted.
Your major definitely matters too!</p>

<p>well basically from my limited understanding</p>
<p>Class of 2012+ don’t have to take SAT II’s(sounds great but thats more weight on the SAT I and grades).
UC’s are planning to instead take top 9% of all high school seniors instead of the top 12% <em>which has been the policy for many years</em></p>
<p>This policy also wants to make admissions seem more equal so UCs are planning to accept more of the minorities. HOWEVER ASIANS are at a disadvantage. According to UC data tables, Asians make up a big chunk in terms of demographic of the people accepted in. <em>Think about 45-55%</em>. With this new policy, basically if ur URM, or african american, your chances go up alot. the White demographic doesn’t get that much affected and Asian demographic in UC is supposed to go lower :(.</p>
<p>Affirmative action is total BS, it promotes reverse discrimination. </p>

<p>to the person who said that everyone gets into UCM then let me tell u, r very wrong. i got rejected with a 4.1 GPA Multiple extra curriculars great essays and 2100 for SATS so as u can see not everyone gets accepted into UCM.</p>
<p>^Either that was a mistake or they rejected you because they knew you wouldn’t SIR. I’m sure if you expressed interest in the campus, they would accept you.</p>
<p>lolllll yeah UCM takes pretty much everyone but hey an acceptance is an acceptance. I think UCI’s a reach but ppl here are saying your SAT will make up for it so who knows? good luck nothing to do now but wait it out! (:</p>

<p>Don’t give up hope Shibykin! UCR isn’t so bad, it’ still a UC, I know plenty of smart people who really improved in high school and then went there.</p>
