ACT: 23 ( can anyone tells me what this translates into? My guidance counselor has a chart in her room that says it is an 1800 SAT, this seems too high, and I will try the ACT's again, I think I prefer them to the SAT) Also, will take again in September.

EC's
Varsity Baseball Player
Have University Credits from Eastern Washington University
Was a people to people student ambassador.
Part Time job.
Member of the Radio Club

(Note, I am in a course that helps students write college essays and am hoping I can crank out a good essay, also my recommendations should be good, one will be from a teacher who had me as a freshman and as a Junior.)

SCHOOLS ( Now, I know there is a pretty wide range in the list, but I do not know how all the "Wild Cards" I have will work in my favor such as minority status and huge GPA improvements)

Drexel University
Seton Hall University
Fordham University
Rutgers University
Pennsylvania State University
Indiana University
University of Pittsburgh
American University
Lehigh University
University of Illinois
Syracuse University
Villanova University
Emory University
Northeastern University
Boston University

Also, how much will being a minority help, if it will help at all?

I also attend a VERY competitive high school in NJ

Thank You!

Your test scores kinda suck, but that’s not a huge problem. Retake both and do better.

Big grade improvement is good, colleges generally write off freshman year (I had horrible grades freshman/sophomore and better junior/senior).

You say minority, but you don’t say what. If you’re black, it probably helps. If you’re asian, it could actually hurt.

Baseball is cool, I played too, but unless you are in a serious leadership position (captain before senior year) or intend to play in college (and are being recruited) its not a big selling point.

I think you’ve got a shot at all of those schools if you can get the SAT closer to 2000 and the ACT closer to 30.

Drexel University - match
Seton Hall University
Fordham University
Rutgers University - slight reach
Pennsylvania State University - slight reach/ high match
Indiana University
University of Pittsburgh - high match
American University - high match
Lehigh University - reach
University of Illinois - reach
Syracuse University - slight reach
Villanova University - reach
Emory University - high reach
Northeastern University - high reach
Boston University - slight reach

Sorry, I am Hispanic, hahaha last name “Rodriguez”

EDIT! I borrowed the stats from an older post. My Super Scored SAT Score is now a 1770 (Went from a 510 to a 580 Writing)

BUMP! anymore ???
