Intended Major: biology (not necessarily pre-med)</p>
<p>Grades: (no GPA) B+/A- average (straight A's in math and science though...) its pretty hard to get A's at our school btw
Rank: (we don't rank but guessing..) top quarter
SAT: 2390
SAT II's: 770 BioM; 800 Math II; 800 Chem; 790 USH
AP: (we don't have AP classes so that's why i took so few) 5's on Bio, English Lit, BC Calc</p>
<p>Courses: pretty challenging; main point is that I'm the first one to skip two years of math
and just a side note, my grades have been steadily improving through high school; i have almost straight a's now.... (my freshman grades sucked... ugh)</p>
<p>Awards:
Siemens competition regional finalist
--i submitted to Intel STS and ISEF (expecting at least semis for sts... unless i messed up my application... and at least qualifier for international fair for isef)
Columbia science honors program
SET participant (idk if this even counts... it's like this "study of exceptional talent" program)
AP Scholar with distinction
HHMI research grant (this isnt as prestigious as it sounds... b/c i get it through my lab..)

Science research - last summer and I've been continuing it through the school year (it really takes up a lot of time... during the school year, i go to the lab for 3 hours everyday after school) - and i submitted my paper as a supplement
Piano - 12 years (Carnegie Hall recital)
Swimming- 11 years (won a regional award)
Literary magazine layout editor
Yearbook layout editor
hospital volunteer for a year (100+ hours)</p>
<p>Essays: i'm in no position to judge my own writing, but according to my college counselor, they're all really great.</p>
<p>Letters of Recommendation: one should be great. the other good (weird that the great one is from a humanities teacher....)</p>
<p>Interviews: so far, they've been really good; i mean, not completely amazing. but definitely won't raise any red flags</p>
<p>Hooks: ummmm, science award(s)?
Weaknesses: NO LEADERSHIP (ugh. it's literally a popularity contest at our school....)</p>
