Thank you to those who reply.

bump… please… chance… me…

You applied to Wharton, Duke, and Bowdoin ED already? I’d say your chances are slim if you don’t know the early decision rules…All we can say is you’re a competitive applicant. Certainly a strong candidate and will get into a very solid school.

Nah in all seriousness, I went RD everywhere. Pretty indecisive kid. But thanks. Ball-busting is a hobby of mine as well.

bump… what are other people thinking out there? 140something views and 1 person commenting to bust stones? CC can do betterrrrr.

All looks really good to me. You are a strong, and - very importantly - well-rounded, student. Good luck!

Thanks a lot, mayhew.

I was just thinking, I did not submit my application before the 10th so I’m assuming that I won’t have an interview. Will this hurt me in any way? I have heard stories of people getting calls for interviews despite their missing the deadline. I’m praying that this happens to me. I live in central New Jersey so I’m thinking that there must be a decent number of Duke alumni in the area. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking. Thoughts?

I’m sorry. I’m a parent of a son who applied RD to Duke. I don’t understand what you mean by “ED loophole.” I thought you ONLY applied ED if you knew with 100% certainty that you would go to that school if accepted. In our case, we don’t know that because it will come down to whether or not he gets enough in scholarship money. Anyway, did he blow it by applying RD? If so can someone explain how this works? We homeschool and we have another son looking at schools in a few years so I want to learn from our mistakes.

^idesireadmission was being sarcastic. You have nothing to worry about. Your understanding is correct. I just said he/she applied to those places ED because that’s what his/her past posts say…but clearly he/she wasn’t being truthful in those posts…or was undecided about which one to apply to ED or something like that.

How embarrassing! My son knew it was meant to be funny. I guess I’m the reason homeschoolers get a bad name:) Thanks for CC because we have learned soooo much about what to do to apply to colleges that we wouldn’t have known otherwise!
