<p>Application season is coming up and I'm getting really worried. UChicago is my first choice and I would really really appreciate it if anybody could guess my chances of being admitted! I will be applying Early Action.</p>

<p>Demographics: Female, Asian, Australian citizenship, Private international school </p>

<p>GPA: ~3.8
SAT I: 2340 (790 M, 750 CR, 800 W)
SAT II: Bio E (800), Math II (790), World History (790)
AP: Bio (5), Chem (4) </p>

<p>Senior AP's: Comparative Gov, U.S. Gov, Calculus BC, Physics B</p>

<p>Recs: Nothing spectacular ("good")
Essay: Interesting, passionate</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Math team (4 years)
Debate team (3 years)
Peace orchestra (2 years)
Economics blog (1 year)</p>

<p>Summers:
Law firm intern (1 summer)
Bank intern (1 summer)
Orchestra concert at an island nearby (1 summer)</p>

<p>Are you applying from Australia with no status in US? If so you have a pretty good shot.</p>

<p>I’d say you have a decent shot because hardly anyone applies from Australia and your stats are amazing.</p>

<p>Stats get your foot in the door but don’t get you in. Your essays are the make-it or break-it factor.</p>

<p>As the poster above me said, writing is very important to the Chicago admissions department. I was admitted with a GPA of 3.7 while my best friend, a very talented writer, was admitted with a GPA of 2.7. Make sure your extended essay for the supplement is entertaining and make sure to answer the “optional” prompt as well.</p>
