<p>Please chance me for Penn (either college of arts/sciences or engineering, i am undecided). Debating on pure science/math or applied sciences/engineering.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.8/4.0 unweighted. Class rank unavailable
SAT: 2340 (800 math, 780 writing, 760 reading)
SAT II:
Math II: 800
Physics: 770
Chemistry: 750</p>

<p>Course rigor: Probably one of the most challenging (or the most challenging) course load in my entire grade. All honors classes throughout high school. In junior year I took AP Calc BC, AP Language/comp, AP US history, and AP Chemistry, along with honors physics and spanish, and orchestra. Senior year I took AP Literature, AP Biology, AP Physics C, AP Modern European History, AP Statistics, Multivariable Calc, Honors Spanish, and orchestra.</p>

<p>EC's: Nothing spectacular :(</p>

<p>Started up a charter for Science National Honor Society in my school in 11th grade, have been in group grades 11-12.
Member of the debate team 10-12. Won a few small trophies.
Member of the math team 10-12.
100+ hours community service and other volunteering
Member of school orchestra 9-12, chamber orchestra 12
Applied/was accepted to SIG for summers 10-11
Made it to AIME
Went to China to visit family, do some volunteering, and learn a bit of Chinese, if that counts for an EC
I like reading, and math? :p</p>

<p>Make your summer count. Do an internship or something with leadership or service that is over the top. Your GPA is a bit low for RD, but if you have a story, it will make up for it.
Most importantly, when you decide what your number one school is, if they have early decision or early action-use it. Unless it’s Stanford. It doesn’t help you to apply early there-chances are just as sucky. For everywhere else, you can really help your chances by ED or EA.
If it’s not possible to do an internship, get a job. Surprisingly, most kids have no work experience so you look good when you do.</p>
