Please Chance for the UC System! Rising Senior!

Hello,

I am an Asian female living in California who is going into her senior year of high school. I’m interested in pursuing a degree in civil engineering or architecture, to satisfy my passions of math and science. UC Berkeley and UCLA are my number 1 and 2 schools, while I am also looking at Cal Poly SLO and a couple other colleges. I work and correspond heavily with my teachers, advisers, and principal, so I hope to get good letters of recommendation. I know my school sends a decent number or kids to these universities (generally 15-25 students are accepted into Berkeley from my school). I’d appreciate any kind of analysis, towards what I need to work on, or what is satisfactory. Thank you!

Thank you for any input you can give me!

You posted a thread about this already, but I do believe you have great chances for all of the schools! UCB and UCLA can go either way, but you’re set from at least UCD! Just write next to decent essays.

You will prob get into all of them with good essays

You can bump your thread. There is no need to start new thread.

Just so you know, my nephew who was study this combination of major, actually he was an architect then civil engineering, only work in civil engineering job for a few years. Now back to running a small business. I would suggest you research your career and major carefully. Just because you are good in math and science doesn’t mean these should be your majors.

You’ll get in! Just write an amazing essay and you’ll get in

Wow! Congratulations on all of your accomplishments! I’m sure both Berkeley and UCLA will be majorly impressed with everything you have to offer! Good luck on your essays and letters of rec!

Everything looks good, as far as I can see. Great stats and ECs are solid (although a little scattered). Make sure your essays are strong and I think you should be good for all of the UC’s, except UC Berkley & UCLA - those are a little iffy, but I’d guess that you’ll get into at least one of the two.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1796894-chance-me-for-stanford-columbia-etc.html#latest

You’re in for all the schools you have listed.

Bump

Thank you to everyone who has replied thus far~ It means a lot to me
@DrGoogle I have been researching this field and have been interested in it for around 6-7 years. I’ve been involved with art quite a lot, which has lead to my interest in architecture. I’m pretty set on it, but am definitely still exploring other options

Bump

Very good stats. Make sure that your research more on your major to be certain that you want to go into civil. Lots of times, people go in with a certain expectation only to realize that this major was not as great as they imagined.

Your profile fits literally thousands of current students at Cal and UCLA. With a resume like yours, you deserve to get in. Glad to see you’re from CA too!

I know somebody who was good with photography, start out with architecture at Stanford and then changed to Urban Studies. Last I e heard she was joining real estate firm selling real estate. So I’m sincerely mean to research your major. Yes you are interested in art, I see that, but do you know how easy it is to find job in these majors?
