what do you guys think?

does anybody have any ideas?

please chance!! haha I spent too much time on this not to get any replies :(

Woww man you are a truly impressive candidate! i believe that your chances are great at every school you mentioned, you’ve got everything you need so relax, write great essays and hope for the best. I’m sure you’ll get into somewhere great. Good luck.

Apply to Northwestern’s med program if you’re interested in that stuff as well. I recommend only sending in your ACT score if you can…
You are a qualified candidate, but your unweighted GPA is a bit low. Make sure to write amazing essays, and you shouldn’t have a problem getting into most of these schools.

Yeah I am applying to HPME for Northwestern and the med program at WashU but I don’t really consider that a factor since it is highly unlikely that I will get in there with the kind of competition they have for those limited spots. Haha also, I am kind of hoping that I do not get into Stanford or one of those combined med programs because I am doing ED at Rice and it would really suck to turn down one of those extremely prestigious programs since I will be committed at Rice. I know that there are ways that you can back out of ED claiming money but I’m not too sure how feasible that is.

Man impressive stuff. I’d say you’re a reach at stanford and duke but the rest you have a great shot! Were you planning on retaking the Chem Subject Test? I know BU requires it for their med program so that could hurt you a little bit. Good Luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1344337-chance-me-please-updated-stats-etc.html</a></p>

in all except stanford.

chance me
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1410429-chance-me-please.html</a></p>

You definitely have a good chance at all of the schools you mentioned - Stanford is still a reach though.

Good Luck!

stanford is a reach for everyone, all you can do is maximise your chances. would have been nice to see an athletic or musical EC in there somewhere, is the MIT course and edX one by any chance? your high reach schools are just that, everything else is a match. try and up your sat writing if at all possible, that would do you a world of good

chance back please
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1410059-chance-me-ivies-ill-chance-back.html</a></p>

Don’t commit to Rice.
Looking at your stats, i think you can get into better schools…

Very impressive stats. Stanford admissions are ridiculous but there is no magical formula, and you have as good a shot as anyone. All the other schools I would say you have a really good chance for.

Chance me back

You are a match for Rice ED. Ignore those who talk about more prestigious schools if you believe Rice has the best programs for you. Rice also has a terrific pre-med program and is right across from the Texas Medical Center, so there will be plenty of opportunities there for pre-meds.

Thanks so much muckdogs. I was actually getting a bit panicky thinking that I made a mistake applying ED to Rice but then I remembered all the reasons why I like to so much. With the exception of duke and stanford, it has the best bioengineering program in the country on my list, right in texas medical center, great atmosphere, great campus, and a good value too. The only reason I would think of even backing out would be if I got a better deal at duke or stanford (which is highly unlikely) or if I got into a combined med program (highly unlikely as well). Especially for premed, I know too much emphasis is not placed on what your undergrad school is and it is even less it they are both top tier schools (like Rice vs Duke).

So I got rejected (not even deferred) from Rice. How the **** did that happen?

There is no hope for anyone then :(

Obviously upper Ivies are tougher. Still, you seem like an extremely well-qualified candidate - especially your out-of-school ECs are impressive.

I’m sorry you got rejected from Rice :frowning: That sucks, man. Sadly, being well-qualified often isn’t enough. Luck plays such a heavy role. But you’ll find somewhere where you’ll be happy :)

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1430767-i-swore-i-wouldnt-give-ask-chances-but-here-i-am-pton-rice-emory.html#post15191854</a></p>

I got rejected from Northwestern, dont worry. chance me?
