Schools:
MIT (EA?)
Princeton
Cornell RD/ED
UPenn
Northwestern
Johns Hopkins
Duke
Columbia
Carnegie Mellon
UMichigan
UMaryland

Thanks! I will chance back if you post your link

I think you’ll get into all of your schools except maybe MIT is a reach if you dont have an amazing rec.

I don’t think having a single parent is that unique, no offense. It’s actually really common. Maybe I’m just biased because my mom’s a widow so it’s like, my whole life with a ‘single parent’ almost lol.

Ok. Stats are good. EC’s look alright. So…

MIT (EA?) - high reach (being asian def not in your favor)
Princeton - reach
Cornell RD/ED - lower reach
UPenn - match
Northwestern -match
Johns Hopkins - low reach
Duke - match
Columbia - match
Carnegie Mellon - matchish
UMichigan - in
UMaryland - in

Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/741629-chance-improvements-2011-urm.html

OH and have you ever heard of the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering? REALLY GOOD. REALLY SELECTIVE. and FREE! Look it up on collegeboard and see for yourself. Higher ranges than the Ivies…

You’re ECs, GPA, and SATIIs are fantastic! Though if you’re Chinese, colleges won’t really give you credit for the 800. Just try to raise your SAT to 2300 and I think you’ll be safe at most schools except for maybe MIT, Princeton, and John Hopkins. You have enough awards and AP classes so make sure you’re essay and recs are well written. Best of luck! :)

Chance me:

MIT(EA): High Reach (Single Parent? Give them a story. MIT REALLY likes people who had FMLed lives and who struggled out of it. A friend had a disability she overcame- and she’s going to MIT this year- and though she was a good applicant, she wasn’t spectacularly spectacular!) :)

Princeton: Reach to High Reach

Cornell RD/ED: Low Reach

uPenn: Wharton(High Reach); Non-Wharton(High Match)

Northwestern: Match

Johns Hopkins: Match

Duke: Match

Columbia: High Match

Carnegie Mellon: Easy Match

uMichigan: Safety

uMaryland: Super-Safety

Consider schools like CalTech, Stanford, UCLA and UC Berkeley as well!! They have excellent engineering programmes- some of which are better than the colleges you’ve listed! You have a good shot at most though! Hope this helps!

good academic credentials bro
