Essay/hook: I've been dancing since I was little. I'm on an all guys dance team. I think I can bring this skill of dancing to UF. I think this will be the focus of my essay/my unique hook I hope

Other colleges:
UCF
Northeastern
Boston U
NYU
U Chicago

UF: Low Reach-Mid Match
UCF: Low Match-Safety
Northeastern: Unsure, don’t know much about the school
Boston U: Mid Reach-Low Reach
NYU: Mid Reach-Low Reach
U Chicago Mid Reach-Low Reach

You’d have been solid, if it wasn’t for that UW GPA and all those dual-enrollment courses. Great AP selection though.
Very good ECs.
You could try raising up SAT, but it wouldn’t do too much unless you got it to 2250+. If you’re up for the challenge, go for it, if not, focus more on ECs and grades.

all easy matches except NYU and UChicago. your UW GPA isnt high enough for those. However, ECs are amazing and may increase your chances for those 2. I can see youre a gator so I’m proud to say that you have a good shot of getting into UF!

Thanks guys. Just wondering if I study this whole summer and get a 2250+, will it make UF a solid match? Like I really want to get in to UF. If I don’t, my whole family will just look down upon me. Any suggestions on what I can improve on? I really need to get in to UF.

You look wonderful! But agreed with some others, NYU looks like a nice reach, but UChicago is a little harder of a reach. Acceptance was not even 9% this year, so it’s a crap shoot for everyone who applies, basically. However, you seem to be really strong of an applicant!

Thank You! Yes I know they are hard reaches but I am just applying to see what happens. Even if I were to get in, I most likely will keep UF my first choice.

bump bump:) GUYS IM EXTREMELY NERVOUS

If it wasn’t for the unweighted GPA, I’d go so far to say UF would be a low match for you. But as is, I’d say a mid match. All in all, I think you have a good shot. I’ve seen people with MUCH worse records than you get into UF, without even having anything significant on their application. I think you’ll be fine. That’s also a great SAT score for UF, but the value of that starts diminishing as you go farther up the selectiveness of colleges on your list. Good luck!

UF is already a solid match for you lol, youre making it seem like it is as selective as an Ivy

haha thank you! I know I kind of make it sound extreme but after all the randomness I’ve seen from the admission counsel, I am kind of scared! Like if I don’t get in to UF, my parents will look at me as the outcast of the family considering all my extended family has made it in. I just want to make it close to a guarantee that I’ll get in! lol

Bump Bump! Any more opinions:)

Please guys. I’m extremely stressed. Bumppp:)

You took 18 AP classes and 12 Dual Enrollment classes. Sorry but thats kind of hard to believe. If your from Florida, the max AP’s one can take is between 15-17 and as DE, no one takes more than 6-8. As for UF, your UW and W GPA are way too low. I’m only a freshman who hasn’t taken a single AP class yet and my Weighted GPA is way higher.

Clubs and Activities definitley help though
I apologize if I sounded a tad rude in my previous post.

No, it’s alright. But yes, my school puts no restriction on AP’s and DE. I maxed out both but got a bunch of B’s in my AP classes.

and I plan on doing summer most likely if that helps

Everyone else seems to have nailed it. U Chicago is a reach, with NYU being a low reach/high match, as with BU. Your E.C.'s are great, but that unweighted GPA does you in. I’d say that you should get into the other two.

Do mine? Sorry that is is so lengthy. The scores and stuff are pretty easy to find.

I took a look at UF’s admission statistics, and I considered your GPA again on what you said was UF’s scale. It seems like you’re in.

The admission rate for people with over a 4.0 UF GPA is 81.2%, and those with over a 2100 SAT is 88.6%. You most likely have over 31 academic courses, which adds another sector with a 78.8% rate.

Honestly, judging from all of these statistics and the strength of your extracurriculars, you should have absolutely no problem getting into UF.

UF: Match
UCF: Safety
Northeastern: Match
Boston U: High Match
NYU: Low Reach
U Chicago: Reach

You should still apply to the reach schools if you think your recommendations will be okay and you are confident about your essay.

chance back!

Thank you guys! Any more chances. Every opinion is appreciated:)
