Thank you in advance for taking time to do mine out of the million other threads begging to be chanced.

Essays should be really good, writing has always been a strong point
Teachers recs - the one I got is glowing, the other should be as well

I think that your extracurriculars are fantastic, as is your courseload (go IB!). Your rank and test scores have room for improvement, if you can. From what you’ve given us, I’d say:

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor - match
Michigan State University - low match
University of Chicago - low reach
Cornell University - reach
Boston University - low match
NYU - match
Columbia University - reach

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/758832-chances-i-begin-my-apps.html

Michigan - match
MSU - safety
Chicago -match
Cornell - reach unless your scores go up
NYU - low reach
Columbia - high reach

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/760761-chance-me-please-only-cornell-ed-if-youre-short-time.html

Thanks so much guys, I chanced back!

You should think about putting UVa on the list as well. We are a top 25 school and even though we are public, about 1/3 of the students are from out of state so you won’t feel alone.

Your GPA is good, as well as some pretty good EC’s. Your ACT is above average, but in my opinion trying for a 32 would be super helpful. But I think you should get into MSU and U of M is a match.

Just a side note on your double major. People who major in dance or things like that have very high acceptance rates to med school. I would consider lightening your course load…taking your premed requirements, and simply majoring in dance. The choice is yours obviously but for me at least Biochem would be hard enough as it is.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/760705-chance-notre-dame-others.html

You’ve got good GPA and ECs~ I’m not that familiar with ACTs so can’t really comment on that haha I think with a good SAT, you’ll have a great chance at all of those schools. I’m not sure, but I THINK the fact that you are Hispanic may be of help…through my observations haha good luck!

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/760886-chance-upenn-cas-ed-other-schools-will-chance-back.html

Thank you so much, I chanced you back. And tiki_tik, thanks for the potential school, I checked it and it looks interesting so I’ll be looking into that more!

Michigan -match
Chicago - match if you write great essays
Cornell - Hmm low reach
Columbia - mid reach
NYU - match
BU - low match

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/759123-chances-cornell-ed-can-i-do-i-always-chance-back-quickly.html

Thank you so much, I chanced you.

Oh god I forgot to mention - I’m planning on doing ED for Michigan, MSU, Columbia and Cornell.

With a 31 on the ACT, you’re going to find that UChicago, Cornell, and Columbia are reaches. However, you can definitely raise this. You’ve got a solid application otherwise. Best of luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/762186-my-girlfriends-school-doesnt-help-her-college-apps-please-chance-her.html

Alright so obviously I need to raise my ACT… should I work for a better ACT or really phenomenal SAT subject tests, does anyone know? Because I’m going to be really busy, I don’t think I can do both…
anyway thank you, I chanced you…or, your girlfriend…

Ignore the note about the ED’s, I was a bit confused…

Please chance me if you haven’t, I really value everyone’s opinion!

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor: match
Michigan State University: safety
University of Chicago:reach
Cornell University: reach
Boston University: match
NYU: match
Columbia University:reach
I would take the ACT again and would aim for a 33 at least to get into the Ivy’s.
Good Luck. Can you chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/762765-chances-penn-state.html
Thanks

thanks so much, i chanced back :)

Wow you really spent two months in Africa helping pygmies?!? Now I remember why I gave up my goal of getting into Columbia. If ivy league schools are a reach for you then I have no chance…but since you chanced me I’ll give you my opinion:

U of M: match
MSU: definitely safety, and you could probably get a really nice scholarship
Chicago: low reach
Cornell: low reach
Columbia: low reach
I don’t know much about BU or NYU but I’d say match

Your class rank is probably your biggest weakness but if you have a 3.89 unweighted gpa then your school must be pretty competitive…or maybe I’m just surrounded by slackers. Don’t worry about your act, a guy from my high school got into harvard last year with a full scholarship and he had a 31. Good luck

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor- match
Michigan State University- in
University of Chicago- reach
Cornell University- reach
Boston University- match
NYU- match
Columbia University- reach

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/763068-i-just-finalized-my-list-colleges-chance-me-please-ill-try-chance-back.html

UMichigan- match
Chicago-low reach
BU-safety
NYU-match
Columbia-low reach
Cornell-low reach
Michigan State-safety

Raise your ACT score to something like a 33 and you’ll be set! You’re already a solid applicant with dedication. Good luck!

Chance me?
