BTW, did you know Columbia has a 4 year language requirement? I wanted to apply there, but once I found out, I was really mad. Most schools are fine with 3 years.

thanks so much i chanced you back.
anyone else??

Definitely retake the ACT.
While the 31 Composite looks good, colleges are going to see the 28 on math and science (especially when you want to major in biochemistry). Colleges would rather see a 31 all around than a scattered 36-28-28-33 .

well I did have an ACT score like that… it was more rounded, but I bombed the science section (which is what brought me down) and the average of the score I posted was higher so…

I’m marking hispanic on my applications, so I’ll be URM… does this help my chances a lot or just a little?

Chicago and Columbia are reaches. I think you’re in everwhere else.

THANKS!!!

Thanks for chancing me!

Being top 20% might make it harder to get into some of the more selective schools, but overall, I think you’re in a pretty good shape.

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor -Match
Michigan State University - Not too familiar with it
University of Chicago - Low reach
Cornell University - Low reach
Boston University - Low reach
NYU - Match
Columbia University - Reach

I’m guessing that out of UChicago, Cornell, and Boston you’ll be accepted to either one or two.

Michigan -match
Chicago - low reach
Cornell - mid/high reach
Columbia - mid/high reach
NYU - match
BU - match

It’ll be tough to get into the Ivies if you’re only in the top 20%, although I find that hard to believe with your GPA…?
