<p>Okay so I screwed up my freshmen and sophomore year and here it is to bite me is the a**. I am an instate residence in NC. Here are my stats. </p>

<p>Weighted GPA :4.4
UW GPA:3.2: 2.9-3.0-3.5 (Upward Trend)<strong><em>(12 AP's, 5 Honors, and 3 regular)</em></strong></p>

<p>ACT: 34
Sat Subject Test: Math: 800
Physics: 750 </p>

<p>Extra Curricular:
Started an Economics club (Founder+President)
Small job shadow/intern at local consulting firm and local Merrill Lynch.
Held an internship and made iphone apps with 2 NYU students
Soccer -all of high school
president of speech and debate - 3 years.
DECA - 2 years
Hold a leadership position in my religious group
Key Club - all of high school
City volunteer teen group - all four years
Senator's Page Program </p>

<p>Letters of Rec(1-10): ~7-8
Essays (1-10): ~8</p>

<p>Hooks: I have a brother that attends UNC and is a junior now. He is doing well. </p>

<p>Everything is great except my grades. Will my grades make/break me even though my course rigor is enormous. I got ahead of myself and screwed up. :/</p>

<p>You’re probably a match for NYU Stern and maybe CAS. UNC is a reach and so is UMich.</p>

<p>Stern and CAS seem like high matches. Grades are alright (upward trend is good), but a good SAT score (2000+) can help a lot.

<p>Although the upward trend obviously is a good thing, your GPA is still really low. Your test scores look great, and your extracurriculars look fine, but are by no means out of the ordinary. </p>

<p>U Mich: Reach (due to GPA)
UNC: High Match/ Low Reach (helped by in-state)</p>

<p>I’m not sure about NYU.</p>

<p>Mich is probably the only reach among them (good job rounding yourself out in EC’s, etc.). Others are Match/High Match.</p>

<p>My main concern is my GPA:/. I cant seem to do well in any classes :(. Will my GPA break if for decent colleges? Does it make that BIG of a difference? Most importantly, do my EC’s and ACT + SAT subject tests make up for it? UNC’s instate acceptance is ~50% and I am completely freaking out. PLEASE HELP!!</p>

<p>You have a great ACT, and while your GPA is low, they’ll like upward improvement. Your ECs are pretty impressive also.
