Hi, I am new to this site but thought id post my stats:

Please chance me for HYPS, Duke, Brown, Darthmouth

SAT: 800M, 750CR, 800WR (2350)
SAT II: 800 Chem, 800 Math II, 740 US History
APs: 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4
Classes: Most rigorous
GPA: 4.05/4.30

ECs: run nonprofit org--have involved 25 schools, won national community service award
classics major--started latin club at school--now compete in nat'l competitions
even though there are only 2, i spend a lot of time, especially with the 1st one

I am from a prestigious HS from connecticut, and HYP usually take a total of 10/210 kids.

Thanks, and I will chance back!

Those are quite good stats, I think that Duke, brown, and dartmouth are all about mid-high target schools. If you play up the latin part of your application and legitimately say you want to be a classic major than Harvard, Yale, and Princeton are reaches but your chances are better than almost anybodies. It is also important what race you are, if you are asian than Stanford is still a high reach.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/898730-chances-duke-penn-cornell-2.html

thanks–yeah I’m asian. anyone else?

Scores are top-notch…Nonprofit is fascinating. While you only have 2 your ECs shine, and are very different from the stereotypical HYPS applicant (like myself) with a laundry list of ECs(none of which are particularly impressive). You have great chances!

Chance me back?

You have the stats, so now it’s up to the more subjective parts of your application :). Good luck!

Ok thanks–but is there anything I am missing? Please be honest.

You have perfect stats and the only thing you have to do is to package yourself as a student who has passion(presumably in Latin?). Write about your passion on Essays, tell your teachers to please please please make a big point about how you love latin. At Darthmouth with the peer review, let your friend write about your passion. With that, I think you could get in.

chance me back?

Dear lifeisstressful,

As you requested, I incorporated your scores, GPA, leadership, and extracurriculars into a systematically devised function of calculatory means that I developed to precisely calculate percent chance of admission to various universities in the US and abroad. The results are as follows (these are the percent chances that you will be accepted at the below named institutions of higher educatory education):

Duke University: 27.890%
Dartmouth College: 37.056%
Brown University: 34.120%
HYPS = more specific university name required

Please note that these are only derived from my own personal formula which seems to accurately predict admissions chances pretty well. Hope that helps!

Your stats and ECs are incredible. Slay the essays and you should have a good chance at the all them, HYPS being an exception as they are damn difficult to get into. But still, I’d say you have strong chance at all those.

Thanks. Dear newstudent12, could you give me the numbers for harvard and Princeton, as well as Stanford? Thanks.

also … anyone else?
