please chance me! ^__^

I'm a junior right now at a very competitive high school in the bay area, california.
My sophomore year grades were not good at all because of personal family issues, but there is an upward trend in my gpa.
i'm an asian female & i was raised here but was born in taiwan.
if it helps, i want to be a nurse or a physician's assistant when i grow up, so i'll probably be majoring in something biology related.

I've taken a few honors classes,
PreCalculus H, Chemistry H.
The AP Classes I've taken: AP Chinese, AP Biology, APUSH & I took General Psychology over the summer @ a community college which counts as an AP class i believe! :o
my school also doesn't offer many ap classes, so i've been taking classes at my local community college.

SAT: 2190 CR: 760 W: 700 M: 730 (I might retake it?)
ACT: Possibly taking in the fall
SAT II: Chinese: 760, Taking Bio, US History, and Math level 2 before the school year ends. Aiming for at least a 780, 760, and 780 respectively.
GPA: 3.3 UW, 3.5 W
AP: Chinese (5), APUSH, APBiology,
*currently enrolled, taking exam this may
Anticipated senior schedule
-AP US gov
-Regular Econ
-AP Statistics
-Physiology
-Contemporary Lit
-Photography

this summer, i'm planning on volunteering at Stanford Hospital and tutoring kids in math.
I also have around 200 community service hours.
I'm also involved in DECA, a business club. I'm also planning on taking AP Calc AB & AP Chemistry at my local community college this summer!

if it helps, i also got a 231 on my psat, and i researched a little, and i think i have a prettty good chance at being a national merit semifinalist! i'm not 100% sure if my gpa will hold me back from being a finalist though. Is it wrong that I'm hoping that this will somewhat cushion my gpa??

so i know my gpa isn't great at alll, but is there anything i can do to increase my chances of admission?!

What’s your class rank? Rank means a lot more than GPA I believe

my school doesn’t rank! ): but we’re also 75% asian & its super competitive so a lot of people have preeetty good grades lool

Your SAT and extracurriculars look great. However, I think that your GPA will cause you to get rejected considering that your GPA is 3.3 UW even when youre not taking very many AP classes, and that you’re OOS.

I don’t think your GPA can go up very much but do your best to get all As this semester as this semester is the last chance you can improve your GPA.

Oh and definitely elaborate on the issues that you were experiencing on your app. They may make up for your GPA

I would be confident. My cousin got in with a 13xx’s on his SAT and like a 3.4-5GPA with like 2AP and 1honor class or something like that. That was 2years ago though, so idk…

Also, UW does this thing called “dreamproject” and they basically send out students that currently attend the UW to local high schools and they just help you out with school, college admissions, give free sneaks, do ice breakers, etc. One of the mentor’s told us she had like a 1400 on her SAT,3.1 GPA, in-state. I also faintly remember the other mentor’s saying their stats weren’t that great either, I think lol.

okay, i guess i’ll hope for the best this fall! thanks guys!
any others? bump!

Your sat 1 look pretty good, your gpa if you could get it to about 3.35 or higher you would have a better chance. Your extracurriculars are so-so and if have more variety you would have a good chance. Right now I see about 40 to 50%.

It’s honestly up in the air. My brother got in with a 1900+ SAT score but with a 2.9 GPA. So that’s pretty low for UW… He didn’t end up going but you know he was still accepted.
