Please Chance Me? also recommend safeties

<p>My son is Very interested in applying to Vassar ED. Is there any Advantage to ED 1 over ED 2 ? Any suggestions for safeties? He is interested in being a double major Theater/Psych Thank you.</p>

<p>Large well regarded public suburban school in Northern NJ.
Caucasian male</p>

<p>GPA general 3.80/4.0 prep GPA 4.17/4.5
all honor classes</p>

<p>Bottom of the top 10%</p>

<p>SAT 1 M 770, CR 720, WR 760</p>

<p>SAT 2 Bio 800, Math 2 780</p>

<p>Bio AP 5</p>

<p>Planning on taking 3 APs Senior year, Band has prevented him from taking anymore APs</p>

Nation honor Society
Section Leader Marching Band low brass
Jazz ensemble
Regional and County honor bands
Heavy participation in school Drama ,leads as well as ensemble,
Peer advisor
Wrote one act play performed at HS</p>

<p>Probably good essays and rec. Community service etc.</p>

<p>I don't know anything about Vassar's ED, but I sympathize with Band screwing up one's schedule. Sigh.</p>

<p>As for safeties, maybe Beloit? It seems sort of artsy, although maybe more on the weird side. Or Emerson, if you have a specific career path in mind.</p>

<p>try Chapman (in oc, california) as a safety. pretty well regarded in theater/film/arts. it's also an LAC.</p>

<p>Your son sounds like he's on an excellent path!
I'd suggest Emerson as well for someone with your son's interests in theater/art. Perhaps Sarah Lawrence or Skidmore as well? (they both have good theater departments and are quite similar to Vassar)</p>
