Any essay ideas? - Im a pretty good writer

I’ll man up and chance you! I think your stats are pretty good especially your class ranking and I think the ACT is strong enough to get you through the first phase of the admissions process. But you also must realize that everyone has stats similar and some have ones that are even better than your. What do you have that makes you stand out? Is it your writing? If so then flaunt that for all its worth!!!

If you display your passion in your essay then i think you have as solid a chance as anyone! Because really college applications…are all about packaging. Its like cereal. You may have the same stuff in your box. But what makes you Frosted Flakes and not wheaties? The better you package the activities you have and who you are as a person…the better your chances are.

Chance threads tell so little about an applicant, that it is pretty hard to say what your chances really are. Especially for colleges like Yale.

Oh and i would write about your Sailing…that seems pretty original!

I’ll be blunt. Your ECs are REALLY boring… sorry. Maybe if you write phenomenal essays…? But then again, unless your test scores are 2200+/33+ you don’t really have a shot with your ECs being so weak. But who knows…maybe you’ll get lucky. Doesn’t hurt to try!

You definitely are on the right track, but your chances are just as good as anyone else’s - no one knows exactly how good they are.

Your activities are fine.
Test scores are pretty good, but when we talk about Ivies there is no exceptional score because anything beyond 2200 is the same - after a certain academic level which shows that you can handle the workload, numbers just do NOT matter. And you have enough of them…
What I think makes you a strong candidate is your balance - you engage in both academic and sports activities which admissions people will notice. Also your business undertaking is quite impressive for a student your age.

With that said and considering the admissions rate of 15% percent for the early round, I can’t say whether you will be accepted or rejected. The admissions decisions at HYP have become soooo unpredictable these days…
