Hi guys, so I'm in my 2nd year at community college. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend full time last year so I'm playing catch up right now. I would like to be chanced for American University, Catholic University and Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland (a lot of people haven't heard of Mount St. Mary's, so if not, no worries.) I plan to transfer as soon as I can...

First of all, my high school GPA sucked. It was terrible. I didn't like my high school and I didn't like school in general so I just didn't do much.

On to college:
-So my current GPA is a 3.29 with 21 credits.

-By the time I apply I'm hoping to have about a 3.42, but I am looking to be chanced with both my current and future GPA.

-I have taken mostly Criminal Justice classes, as I'm a Criminal Justice major.

-I have had one "C" and it makes me nervous because it was in an intro to law enforcement class. I also have had 3 "W's" due to unforeseen circumstances my first year.

-I work full time, if that makes a difference, as well as intern part-time with the local PD.

-I'm also an avid volunteer, I volunteer in a local public housing neighborhood as a tutor, as well as with the National Capital Park Police. I don't know if these particular schools care though.

-I haven't taken the SAT's or ACT's...but I am thinking about taking them in March.

Special considerations for Catholic University:
My dad actually went to Catholic and loved it, for 2 1/2-3 semesters, unfortunately, he was unable to finish his degree there. He got very sick, was hospitalized for a while, severe internal bleeding & almost passed away. He's always wanted me to go there and I kind of want to go there and do what he couldn't...if that makes sense. I was thinking about mentioning this in my essay.

Also, if it matters, I'm a white Catholic female; and will be applying for financial aid, scholarships, etc.

Thank you guys! If you send me a link I'll chance back!
