I applied early to Penn State -University Park in late October. I an Out of State in New Jersey. I put Altoona as my alternate but i really dont wanna go there. I have a 3.42 GPA and a 1640 SAT however i sent two sat scores which would superscore to a 1680. I HAVE OVER 380 hours + of community service. I am the president and vice president of several clubs and I am on the Varsity Track and Field team. I go to the 3rd largest high school in New Jersey and one of my guidance counselors is an alumni and works for the admissions office. Any chance of me to get in? I have the coming days status with university park picture still!

What is your CR and Math SAT scores? I don’t think PSU looks at the writing component. Alot also depends on the type of courses you took in high school. The other stuff doesn not matter at all. If the acceptances are already made for those who applied when you did, your chances are not so good. PSU just looks at three numbers: SAT (2 parts) or ACT score, Class Rank and Date of application. The earlier you apply, the better your chances, unless you are passed over in the acceptance wave for that date.

They do look at writing. All of their bubble charts are based on the 3 part SAT, and they said when I took my tour its writing inclusive. And they don’t super score. Your EC’s dont really matter to them either. Did you put down you’d start in summer? If you did, I’d say you’ve got a good chance to get into the summer session, but straight into fall for UP may or may not happen, and if it doesn’t its because of your GPA

at first i didnt put the summe session but i realized i was available and free so the day i got my coming days status i called and added it. do you guys think it was too late to do? Or are they still gonna make a final decision soon? I got the coming days status yesterday 1/16. when do they put up the decisions? Is it at midnight?

coming days means a decision has been made and a letter has been mailed to you. If you don’t get in, you can ask them to reconsider you for summer session, also if you have updated scores and mid term grades you can ask them to reconsider your app for fall term.
