Anyway, if you could chance me for my any of these colleges, especially U. MD with a Banneker/Key scholarship, that would be great!
THANK YOU AND I WILL DEFINITELY CHANCE YOU IN RETURN IF YOU DO!!!!! :D

Very strong transcript. Your standardized test scores a tad low for such schools as Duke, Cornell, UPenn, and Dartmouth, but this one factor will certainly not diminish your chances at acceptance. You seem to have very strong extracurricular activities, so assuming you write good essays and receive good recs and also get your scores up just slightly I see your list somewhat like this:

Safeties: Frostburg, UMD (good chance at merit scholarships, especially with 2200+)
Matches: UNC, Rice
Reaches: U of Chicago (strange acceptance trends/patterns), Duke, Cornell, UPenn, and Dartmouth

Sorry, I don’t know really anything about Sweet Briar or Kettering, but you have a strong application so far. I may suggest adding another safety just for comparison purposes of financial aid and location and such, but in all, you have a strong chance at even your “reach” schools. I wouldn’t be surprised to see you get accepted into half of those reach schools.

chance back if you want…http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/951687-duke-early-decision-chances.html

Thank you so much! I will definitely work on those scores. :)

I just wanted to input that uChicago is a very unusual school that they will try to find “fits” to the Chicago style, rather than find the best students. If you’re quirky, unusual, and prefer intelligence over prestige, it may be a better suit than any of the Ivies (minus Penn. Penn is the only Ivy with actual school spirit.)

I agree with the above post. Try to get at least 1450/2200 on the SATI. Good luck :)

Your scores are great, but your gpa is a bit low. I would say, if you really highlight your girl scout involvment in your essays, you could have a shot. I myself was a juliet back in the days. I also have the fall to work on my own scores as well! Cornell, Darmouth, Upenn, and Duke are your reaches. I think you have a shot if you really work hard this summer. Thank you for your input. Don’t worry! You will love the school you pick!

bump… :)

How is her GPA low if she has a 4.0 unweighted??
