Please Chance Me! Do I even stand a chance?

<p>Intended Major: Film Production/Studies</p>

<p>GPA: 2.9-3.0 UW :frowning: I know, Hopefully by application time w/ Mid Year Report I can raise it but I’m not sure if admissions would be able to see my improvement by then (Really worried about GPA because I had a really bad Junior Year (depression, family issues, etc)</p>

<p>SAT: Took first in June (1950). PSAT Score-189. Taking the October SAT soon</p>

<p>AP Courses: (Frosh-Junior): AP Chemistry, AP World History, AP French Language, AP Human Geography, AP Physics, AP US History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Statistics)–Plenty of Honors Classes through the years as well</p>

Probably from my AP French Teacher (Sophomore Year) who is also the sponcer of the French Club and my current AP US Government Teacher.</p>

<p>Your GPA is quite low. You will have to try to explain that to the admissions officials. You should take the most interesting thing about yourself (writing, French, nursing home work?) and make it really compelling. Your essay will have to be amazing. Try to have an interview, even if it has to be a Skype one.</p>

<p>I agree with danceclass, though on paper (aside from your GPA) you look pretty good. </p>

<p>Have you considered taking the ACT? Not that your SAT scores aren’t great and in range for Bard, but my ACT score was the equivalent of being 200 points higher than my SAT score. I would encourage you to see if you’re more successful on the ACT and would suggest that you send those scores in. While Bard is test optional, great test scores will help you because of your GPA.</p>
