please chance me! entering class of 2010

Georgetown is my number one choice. Please let me know what kind of shot I have at SFS and/or the regular college. I'm more interested in SFS, but i've heard it's much harder to get into. Be honest with my chances!

Hooks?
-Grandpa went to Gtown undergrad (probably doesn't matter at all)
-National Merit something..i'm not sure if i'll be semi or finalist at this point
-Earned additional Global Studies diploma from school...unique program that involves global classes (like global issues, eastern religions, etc.), a foreign exchange trip, global club (model U.N.) and a senior year term paper (around 20 pages) about a global issue that we are passionate about--mine is water purification i'm thinking--we then present our paper to the school board and are an advocate for our cause. I'm hoping this will earn some major points with SFS.

I'm not too worried about essays..but do I have a shot at EA? Thanks!

Yes you do and I strongly suggest you apply SFS if you so desire. The admission rates to all schools within GTown are basically the same so if your essay stands out, you will be admitted.

There is no sure thing, but your numbers sound good to me. Apply to SFS. It is harder to get into SFS (the percentages are roughly the same across schools but SFS attracts in general a higher caliber of applicant than MSB, COL, or NHS), but I think you have a very solid chance and if SFS is what you’re interested in, it just doesn’t make sense not to apply to it.
