Hello,
My statistics are very mid-par. Not competitive, not subliminally low... But I guess they're low to the CC community, haha.

Your review could help me determine whether certain schools are realistic or not.
Just a little background information and statistics:

Public school doesn't rank.
GPA: 3.89, hopefully above/around 4.0 by the end of 1st semester (I did okay 1st quarter, so I can see myself on my way there)
SAT: 1840, will take once more in December
Subject Tests: Scores are not out yet
Background: Asian, low income (as in... free or reduced lunch), and parents never graduated from a college

Extra Curricular:
Summer Residential State Governor's School, Vice President of National Art Honor Society, Treasurer and then President of Students Helping Honduras, Key Club 3 years, weekly volunteer member at the county hospital (3 hours/week), Future Business Leaders of America 2 years, AP Scholar, finalist in county-wide Reflections art contest, volunteered at dog pound since middle school, Social Studies Honor Society, Science Honor Society, National Honor Society, art featured in school literary magazine.

Class rigor: 9 APs by the end of senior year.

Art Portfolio: "solid/strong portfolio," according to SAIC, MICA, and Pratt at Portfolio Day recently. Portfolio got accepted on the spot for School of Art Inst. of Chicago (SAIC)

Teacher Recs: I have a very good relationship with my Guidance Counselor who knows quite a lot about my family, including personal circumstances that have impacted my academic performance in freshman-sophomore year.

Teacher 1 (AP Lit) and Teacher 2 (PreCalc) recommendations are excellent. Both teachers I grew very close to during my junior year.

School hopefuls (just going to list the ones I am unsure of):

Boston University, NYU (art), WashU St. Louis (art), Carnegie Mellon (design/art), Cornell (art), UCLA (art), USC (probably art, not enough research yet), College of William & Mary (art supplement)

The schools listed above are my reaches, though I am having a hard time determining which ones are highly unrealistic. I'm hoping to improve my SAT score, but in the mean time, I'd like to cut down the number of schools I'm applying to.

Please try not to focus on the flaws of my application, but rather, my chances at the school. I know where my flaws lie.

Many thanks!
