I'm really nervous about applying to BU since it's my dream college. I'm a junior right now.
my overall high school grade will he 92-93 (3.5 gpa around) once this semester ends and hopefully 96 by the end of this year. I screwed up freshman and beginning of sophomore year with around an 85 average. I'm currently taking AP Englishand AP US history. Hopefully getting 4s or 5s on both. My school does not offer honors programs and has very few AP courses. Next year I'm going to take AP Literature, AP Macro, AP gov, and maybe AP environmental. I'm going to write a great essay and have it proofread by a teacher whose amazing at grammar.
My sat grades so far are average 1700s. I'm planning to take the sats in march and get at least a 2000. By October I want at least an 2100. I'm planning to take the English and us history sat subject tests in June.
Extracurriculars: president of astronomy club, devoted member of seekers Christian club, photographer of yearbook and next year the editor in chief, arista honor society, archon honor society.
My writing was featured in the school literary magazine and I'm going to participate in a Shakespeare contest held nationally. Entering many essay contests and will hopefully win one.
Facts about me: Hispanic female with a passion in writing and a freelance photographer.
I screwed up with regents grades:
Algebra: 82
Living environment: 80
Chemistry: 72
Spanish: 88
Global history: 88
English: 100
Physics, trig, and us history I'm taking in June.*
I hope BU doesn't hold regents against me. I'm planning on majoring in English. Im planning on doing general admission since early decision has a lower acceptance rate. I'm also planning on attending either the summer challenge program or honors program at BU this summer. Im taking College Now courses for college credit at my local college for one semester of college. Aside from that i already have 8 college credits from other college now programs ive taken in the past. I will*show major interest in BU in my application and show that i have matured a lot in my grades because I improved drastically (I went from having an 85 average to a 97!) I have around 2 teacher recommendations so far. Please chance me!

When you say your average SAT is a 1700 and you plan to take it March and then AGAIN in October…how many times total are you gonna take it? Most people recommend 2, but no more than 3. I agree with that assessment. It just looks obsessive if you’re doing it that much.

Anyways, I applied to BU. I have a 3.2 GPA unweighted but I have a 2200 SAT and half my classes every semester were honors in 9th-10th and AP in 11th-12th grade. Plus this year (senior year) I’m doing two college classes for high school credit. I have a few other things on my ECs like a 9-year portfolio of art, 150 hours at the University of Washington hospital volunteering, and 10 months of working at a 5-star retirement home, a few clubs at school but no real leadership positions, etc.

If I get in, you’ll definitely get in, your grades and ECs are better. So come April I’ll be able to chance you a bit better.
