NOT a legacy/athlete

White female from CT will make things more difficult, but you’re definitely a qualified and competitive applicant.
2260 doesnt look as good with a 690 math, but still a competitive score.
Overall, I’d say if you don’t get accepted, it will be a fit issue (not saying you are not a fit) over a ‘we needed to see more EC’s or more academic commitment’.
Good Luck!

^I’ll agree. You’re a pretty competitive candidate, but your 690 won’t go unnoticed.
Also, have to written the SAT Subject Tests? What scores did you receive? They do factor in.
Bowdoin is a very selective college. Its made a name for it, but you do have a fair chance. Best of luck!
Could you chance me back, please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1043767-chance-me-pl0x.html</a></p>

I know the math score isn’t great; for some reason I just had a hard time with SAT math. I did send my first quarter grades, though, which included a 96 in AP Calculus AB, so maybe that will help make up for it? I’ve also had pretty consistent As for final grades in the math courses I’ve taken, so they’ll see those on my transcript.
I didn’t like my SAT II scores, and since Bowdoin is SAT optional anyway I figured I shouldn’t send them.
As for being a White Female from CT, I know that’s basically the exact demographic they’re trying to avoid admitting too many of haha…
Thanks so much for chancing me!

Whoops, I forgot to put the classes i’m taking. I’ll also put my first quarter grades.
AP Calculus-96
AP Bio-97
AP Lit-94
AP French-95
Honors Global Studies-92
Catholic Writers-99
All the classes I’ve taken in the past four years (except religion, which doesn’t have levels) have been honors and two APs last year. I’ve never gotten anything lower than a 92 for a final grade. Still, I’m sure everyone else applying to Bowdoin will have great grades…

I think you’ll get in. High Match.
By the way, when you want to get chanced back put a link on the post. All you have to do is copy and paste. So you would copy and paste this http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1044035-please-chance-me-bowdoin.html</a></p>

what were your AP scores?

Thanks Polyosophy-- I just joined this and I had no idea how to do that haha.

For the APs I took last year, I got a 5 on English Comp and a 4 on APUSH.

I agree with Polyosophy on this one. Sure, your SAT math isn’t jaw-dropping good (lol mine isn’t either), and you’re technically “geographically disadvantaged,” but I think Bowdoin is a high match. You seem really competitive, plus with applying ED, you have a good shot at getting in. Low reach at worst imo. Thanks for chancing  Good luck, let us know what happens!!

i got in!!!
