Recs: should be good, one is from my APUSH teacher and the other is from my AP Lang teacher.

UMD College Park Priority Deadline (visited)

Thank you in advance, and good luck to my fellow seniors during the application process this year!

In my senior year schedule I forgot Spanish 4H and Concert Choir H, sorry!

Bump!

Brown ED and Wellesley ED are good fits and you’re clearly competitive, but that still means your odds are perhaps 1 in 3.
If you don’t get in at Brown ED and/or Wellesley EE, revisit your list and remove 2 from Williams, JHU, G’Town, Harvard. I’m surprised you didn’t include Tufts (one of the top IR programs in the country), Occidental (“semester campaign” and “semester at the UN” are both selective but excellent for your stated goals), Dickinson, GWU, and American.
Northeastern and BU are strange choices, especially Northeastern - what’s your rationale?
If you’re a MD resident, UMD-Honors is probably a safety.
Have you run the Net Price Calculator on EACH of those, then brought the results to your parents? What’s their budget? Are they expecting you to win scholarships, or do you need a 100% need school?

@MYOS1634‌ Thank you for your response! The results from Brown ED and Wellesley EE will be somewhat telling, so I agree with your recommendation. In the event that I am rejected from both I may remove JHU and Harvard.
As for the other schools you mentioned, I’m considering Tufts and American, but the others really don’t seem “me”. I know that may seem contradictory considering I listed some anomalies – BU and Northeastern – however I’ve visited both and quite liked them. Northeastern has a fabulous Co-op program that can give students international experiences in their fields (including IR) that go beyond studying a semester abroad. Not to mention I am very familiar with NEU from visiting it when some of my relatives attended.
I have run the Net Price calculator on all of these with my parents, and they’ve decided on a budget. I do not require a 100% need school and the pricetag Brown provided on their calculator is a pretty good match to what they are willing to provide. I am also applying to a considerable number of outside scholarships, so that should help as well… Again thank you for giving me such a comprehensive response!
