Please Chance Me For Columbia!

Im currently a rising junior, and college applications are already on the horizon. Its truly terrifying. However, i was hoping some of you guys could tell me if i really stand much of a chance applying to some of these schools. I know there's really not any safety schools, in fact, there's mostly reaches! So if anyone can recommend some decent safeties i'd appreciate it! I'm interested in Law and Business, so im thinking about majoring in something related to Business Law. One thing i have to mention is that my gpa isnt as high as it should be because i had a horrible freshman year; i was totally overwhelmed by some of the more difficult classes and thus, ended up with 3.5 uw, 3.83 w gpa, in addition to not doing many EC's. After that, i really got my act together and started getting very high grades and got much more involved in EC's. Please chance me for the following schools:

Harvard
Columbia (probably ED, has been my dream school for a while! I'll apply to Columbia College)
UPenn (Applying to Wharton)
Brown
Princeton
Stanford
Georgetown
NYU (Stern, Dad's a Stern Legacy)
University of Chicago
Tufts
Williams
Swarthmore

Jobs:

I do consider myself very well rounded, but my problem with EC's is this: Im good at what i do, but im not nationally ranked for these EC's. I enjoy everyone of them, but im no recruited athlete, professional musician, or competition winning speaker. However, i think colleges will like that i use my talents (swimming, guitar) to help others. Anyways i hope you guys can help and tell me my chances to these schools that im dying to be accepted to! I'll try to chance back!

I think you have a pretty good chance, though I wouldn’t know too much since I’m applying Columbia myself this year- dream school as well. Might be better if you showed a little more interest in your intended major perhaps? The law internship might be a bit mundane. Chance me too?

I am interested in Law, hence i participate in debate and i wanted to go for the internship  i dont know what else to really do to convey my intrest (mock trial conflicts with debate) i’ll chance you right now

If your school has a Moot Club you could join them, or start one yourself. What about the business side?

Haha sorry im kind of a noob with CC. what’s the “Moot Club”? As for business, i’ve been in FBLA for 4 years and maintained leadership positions. Of course a business is not exactly a charity, but it does show entrepreneurship, so for what its worth, i did create a charity, albeit not very large. And i do have an internship with my aunt’s hedgefund starting soon, so thats more of the finance aspect of business. I know, nothing amazing, but i really didnt realize how dull my EC’s were till a few days ago :(

You have pretty good chances. Could go either way.

Your business ECs sound good. A moot club is kind of like what you said, mock law cases and there are competitions for it.

How did you study to get such a high score for the SAT and the AP tests? D:

I don’t think i even mentioned my ap scores…well, most of them were 5’s with the occasional 4 here and there. I was able to score well on them the same way i did on the SAT’s…study relentlessly. I did a ridiculous amount of practice tests, i thought my sat was actually low for what i was getting on practice tests. As for AP, i just pretty much reviewed the textbooks and had stuff memorized. But let me tell you…it was mad intense.

OMG I AM JEALOUS!
I could never score that high… Like the highest I scored on my practice test is a 2040?

LMAO. Your thing looks great. Really.

Now you should definitely tutor me in AP Euro. xDD

Haha thanks. And of all my APs, Euro was the WOOOORSSST. i cant believe i pulled off an A- in that class. it was brutal. like 30% of the class got lower than D’s…

what does stern mean?

sterns the undergrad business school of NYU

well ur application seems pretty average, nothing very special here. ur scores and gpa are about average for the applicants to the schools you
mentioned, and your EC’s are slightly above par. good essays and good recs should get you into 3-4 of those schools.
