Please Chance Me for Cornell Engineering

Hello I’m a current G11 male student from China trying to figure my chance of being admitted to Cornell Engineering ED this fall.
Intended Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: The exact value is unknown (probably around 4.0, if unweighted); but I know that I am rank 1 in my grade.
TOEFL: 107
R 30 L 28 S 20 W 29 (from my first TOEFL taken in last June)
(I’ll try to improve my speaking to around 25 in my second TOEFL)

SAT:
1500-- EBRW 700, M 800 (last October)
1550-- EBRW 790, M 760 (this March) (I have no idea of what happened to my Math)
(so I’ve got a 1590 under Score Choice, though Cornell requires every score to be reviewed and doesn’t participate in Score Choice)
My best essay score is 8/5/8.

SAT Subject Test:
800 in Math Level 2
800 in Physics
800 in Chemistry

AP
Physics 1(5)
Computer Science A(5) (self-studied)

Calculus BC(5) (self-studied)

Microeconomics
Macroeconomics (self-studied)
Chemistry (semi self-studied)
Physics 2
Physics C (semi self-studied)
Human Geography
Computer science Principles
English Lang
Statistics (self-studied)

Note: I took these tests contained within the lines this May but I don't think I did very well.

  • for those I labeled as "semi self-studied", the teacher has only discussed a small part of the material.

We are going to start a team in our own school next season.
  1. Artificial Intelligence club: chief engineer; senior/core member
  2. Provincial Innovation Competition/ Intel Talent Search
Qualified for provincial final, however I didn’t attend because the provincial final conflicted with the FTC World Championship
  3. National Economic Challenge-China (I don’t really want to study economics; I was simply invited to the team by a few friends who insisted that I am good at economics)
    (competed in David Ricardo Division)
2nd Place in East China Division
3rd Place/Bronze Award in China Finals
Individual Bronze Award in Qualifying Test
Qualified for NEC US Finals, but failed to obtain the parental permission to participate.
  4. Canadian Intermediate Math Contest
    School Champion

Other Skills:
Mastery of Solidworks, a CAD software commonly used in industry. I am considering obtaining a professional licence.
Some C++, C# and Java skills
I’m not very good at sports: though I can play badminton, I don’t think I play very well. I basically devoted all the time for sports to my beloved robotics competitions. (so that’s why Harvey Mudd may fit me better)

For essays, I have to admit that I basically have no idea on how to write them, although I believe that my counselors should inspire me somewhat.

So please give me some ideas on my possibility of being admitted by the school- and how I may improve it. Any idea will be appreciated. Thank you.

I’d still call it a match-reach. This year Cornell only accepted around 5k/50k, and for international students, it’s even worse. For engineering last year, they accepted 700/10000 men total which means this year it was probably 700/11000 considering the application count increase. ED does help though, so I’d say go for it
