**I'm just nervous because of my SAT scores. What do you think my chances are for the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Human Ecology?

bbbbuuuummmmpppppppp!

por favor?

SATs are on the low end, but your ECs appear to be strong. I’m not familiar with IB, so I can’t really comment on that.

SATs may hurt but i still think you have very strong chances. high match/slight reach

please chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/835179-should-friend-bother-apply.html

This is a tough one I would say. Your ECs are very solid and show your involvement. Your SATs though need some work. You seem like a really devoted kid so if there is time, I would suggest taking the SATs and both SAT II subjects tests again. There are some colleges that put an emphasis on ECs and some that only care about scores but Cornell seems to care about both. Your grades are great though and your IB classes are very impressive, but I can’t understand why your SATs don’t match the rest of your resume. You have a chance but improving those scores would help you a ton.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/835494-please-chance-me-cornell-ill-return-favor-2.html

Your SATs aren’t the best, but your ECs are wonderful. Cornell is really a tossup, but I have a friend that got in (and is attending) with pretty average statistics and not a whole lot of ECs. They applied for a very unpopular major though, so I’m not sure if that helped any. I’d say you have a very good chance, good luck. :)

SATs arent that high, but SAT is not the only thing they consider anyways…
and your ECs are excellent =]

I would retake SAT subject tests in Jan…

As everyone else said, your SAT may be your killer.I think Cornell doesn’t look at the writiing
section,so your chance would be lower, raise your score to 1400/1600 you will stand a good chance.

Thank you! Ugh I just have SAT-taking issues. i think my brain isn’t awake in the morning, but my SAT is what really worries me. I dont think Cornell accepts Jan SAT so ill just cross my fingers

Both SAT I and II need improvement. In the case of SAT II, there are many with 800s that are applying and many have more than 750. I’m sure you can increase those scores.

Good luck!

As everyone said, the major glitch in your app would be your SAT scores. However, the SAT scores don’t necessarily always define success at the college, but when you are considering an ivy league school where so many students have great EC’s, it becomes that much more of a defining factor. However, IB is a rigourous program that I’m sure they will take into account. Good Luck! : )

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/836783-chance-uva-jmu-w-m-tech-will-chance-back.html

yep, SAT scores are the only damper on your app here. Hope you’re retaking in Jan- it’s worth a try, just buy some prep books. If you have trouble taking morning tests, take advantage of the break and take some practice ones at the same time you would do the real test (say starting at 8:00) to simulate the real test situation.

definitely retake the SAT IIs. otherwise you’re looking good.

you still have a good shot because of your SAT I score. please chance back!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/837690-big-dreams-but-will-i-make.html

Thank you all a lot!

Frankly, your standardized test scores are horrible for admission at any Ivy(or top Private)

On the other hand, Cornell doesnt stress scores as much as other Ivies and your ECs are strong.
Looking at this, I would give you a 30-70 chance.

P.S Having fun in IB? Shout out from a Cali IB student! :)
