Please chance me for cornell

Hi there ,
So I'm An international student from the UAE and next year I'll be a senior.
I'm thinking about applying to cornell medical college undergraduate program , but not the one in the USA , the one in Qatar (( WCMCQ ))
Can you please chance me , here are my stats :
Percentage average : 96% (( we don't have a gpa over here ))
Don't ask about honors or AP's because we have a different education system over here (( which sucks BTW )) and we don't have these things over here.
I'm the top in my class (( out of 70 students ))
SAT1 : 2030
SAT 2 : haven't taken any yet , but I'm planning to take Math 2 , physics and Chemistry , and i'm sure i'll do well in math 2 and physics , but I don't know about chemistry .
Community service :
- Iam a third level volunteer - out of four levels - in a voluntary organization in the UAE , we organize events such as awareness campaigns , visiting sick children , collecting donations , beach cleanups , etc ..
- Participated in Walks to help cancer patients .
- i launched a no smoking campaign at school .
Ec's :
- Won an award for distinguished academic performance(( which is considered the most important academic award over here , and it includes all of the GCC ))
- Won an award for community service
- president of the robot club and the national champion in the robot olympiad .
- member of the debating team , and we won the third place in a competition between the schools in our city.
- physics club president (( for only last year , currently i'm not part of this club ))
- participated in a couple of science fairs .
- A Morning program host (( each day in the morning assembly we have a morning proadcast that I take part in ))
- a member of the school's " friends of library " team .
- 1st place in the school's library competition .
- a certefied adobe photoshop associate .
- a national reading competition finalist (( we read books and they asked us about them and they tested us and the usuall stuff ))
- 2nd place in a " designing using photosbop " competition at school .

And that's about it.

So what are my chances for Cornell ?? Remember the one in Qatar not the one in the states .

P.S : their website says that they follow the same criteria that their US campus follows in admitting students .
Another p.s : I know someone who got accepted this year and his SAT score was 2080 , and he took SAT 2 in Math 2 and chemistry only (( not sure about the scores ))

Thnx (;

BUMP , still waiting (:

You haven’t really provided enough information for getting accurate chances (i.e. SAT breakdown, SAT Subject Test scores, AP/IB scores, etc.).

However, obviously being “at the top of your class,” is a plus. SAT scores need improvement (as you probably know). Also, the ECs you posted don’t really show that much passion/focus; they appear to be more like resume-fillers.

Overall, it is definitely worth applying; just remember that fewer than 1 in 5 applicants are accepted, and most of them (the applicants) are quite qualified.

I would say most likely a rejection, you’re SAT score is too low.

What are my chances of getting into William and Mary ranked 8th of 832 GPA 4.6 sat math 710 critical reading 620 writing 670. Math Italian and art honor society active in fbla (secretary) sadd all honor society events walk for colitis foundation AP English calc Italian art history physics

if u get ur sat score to 2200-2250…u hv a shot…with a 2030 u hv maybe 15% chance…please chance back

I’d say you have a good chance but I don’t know anything about qatars cornell. I’d say improve your SAT and take the ACT and study hard for your subject test. Best of luck habibi :)

Thnx all ,
I V my SAT breakdown is :
800 math
600 reading
630 writing

From where I come from this is like saying in the US i got 2400 , since we are not native english speakers and I’m in a public school and the English curriculum isn’t that good , I sware most of the students at my school don’t know what " how are you " means .

And as i mentioned , I know someone who got accepted and his SAT score was 2080 .

And for AP’s i told you I have none since we have a different system , and I never knew what they were until a week ago , and now it’s just too late to take any . If I knew about them before I would have studied by myself and took them.
For EC’s i sware these are the only one’s available in here , I tried to get envloved as much as I can but we don’t have alot of extracurriculurs offered in here . And BTW i had fun doing everyone of them .

1 in 5 applicants !! That’s for US cornell or Qatar cornell ??

Thnx for your help , Happy independance day (;

1400/1600 certainly doesn’t put you out of the running for Cornell (they do not look at Writing), but the 600 in Reading is very low for Cornell level students.

And yes, fewer than 1 in 5 applicants are accepted. The admit rate this year for normal Cornell was slightly under 18%.
