right now I am a rising senior with a 2230 sat (750 CR 700 M 780 W) 720 in US history, 740 math II, and 31 ACT (29 E 34 M 30 R 31 S). I am involved in many activities in school, I am in select choir, baseball, basketball, peer leaders, leadership club, etc. I am the president of NHS, vp of SNHS, leader in choir, and president of leadership group. I also volunteer often. I have not won major national awards, but I think I am very well rounded and am passionate about what I do. So, what are my chances for Duke? I love the school so much and I'm applying early decision. Thanks for the help! (Some of my other top schools are cornell, upenn, BC) :)

oh, I also take pretty much the hardest classes at school and I am ranked 4th of 188. I expect good AP scores and my gpa is 4.3. Thanks again!

anyoneeeee

It’s hard to chance for Duke. I think you might want to retake the SATs and try for 2300, but that may be shouted down by some other posters. I think you’re very competitive, but without seeing all your ECs in resume format it’s hard to tell. In addition, I would definitely retake the Math II and History SAT IIs; 800 on the Math II, for instance, is only the 88th percentile. I would say:
Duke ED - low reach/reach
Cornell - reach
UPenn - reach
BC - match
Chance me:

I understand the SAT IIs seem low in regards to the percentile, but many people say that anything in the 700s should suffice for schools like Duke and Cornell. Any comments on that?
