jckund, congratulations on the increase in test scores. Great job!!!

I think the fact you attend a prestigious private school will help you. It is a whole different ball game than public school. I don't know if the fact that your grandparents are from Portugal (and you just found out-saw that on another one of your posts) will. Sounds like your parents were born in this country?

Your test scores are a definite bonus. Nice EC's--focused on business!! Your GPA isn't stellar, but prep schools are hard and admissions knows this. Your GC will know exactly where you stand. It is part of his/her common application report. Let him know which of these schools are your first choice as he can also convey that to admissions. I think if you write a STELLAR essay you have a good shot at Villanova, but I'm not sure of EA. They won't have the opportunity to see the continuing upward trend that you showed last year. Hence, you might be deferred. But, I think you will eventually be admitted RD. Think of it this way: EA is when all the kids who can get into the very top caliber schools apply so they can be considered for the best scholarships and honors college. I know two kids from our high school are applying EA to Villanova with 35 ACTs and both are national merit scholars. They are at the very top of their class! They are two in a set of triplets!

I think you have the best shot at Elon and Fordham EA, I don't know anything about Tulane. My S who is currently at VSB looked into Fordham, but didn't apply...he chose to apply to Loyola College--MD for their up and coming Business School.

Does the GC from your school have a book that contains the stats from last year's admitted students to these schools? I think that will be the best predictor of whether or not you can get into any of these schools early or not.

Do not be discouraged and be positive!! I am curious to hear your results!!! Good luck!
