Please chance me for engineering schools! Mostly privates and UCs.

Hey all, I've just about finalized my college list and I'm doing a lot of wondering. I will gladly accept suggestions for schools. I am especially interested in aerospace. I think Caltech is my 1st choice right now because of its size, teacher-student ratio, and connections with JPL/NASA. What do you think?

Major: Aerospace Engineering (or Mechanical where AE is unavailable)
Schools: Stanford, Caltech, UPenn, Cornell, Rice, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, Cal Poly SLO, UC Davis, Purdue (13 total)

State: CA
School Type: Public charter (will be 6 years old when I graduate)
Race: Latina (Brazil)
Gender: F
Income: $90k
Hooks: minority, female in engineering, school is in low income neighborhood, 2nd generation American, 2nd generation college (not sure if that counts for anything)

GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.47 W
Rank: 3 of 134
SAT: 2120 - 680 M, 730 CR, 710 W
SAT II: Taking Math II and Physics in October (pray for me lol)
ACT: 35 - 35 E, 34 M, 35 R, 36 S, 10 essay
APs, etc.: School doesn't offer, instead offers dual enrollment with local community college and 2 universities

I've taken the most difficult classes my school has to offer, which ultimately doesn't amount to much since we're so small.

Other: I really, really, really like space and I'm an astronaut in my wildest dreams. I want to be an engineer and I'm working towards my pilot's license. I love space.

Feel free to ask me anything about my ECs. I'm nothing extraordinary, but just wondering where I should realistically apply or expect to get in. Lots of essays.

the fact that you are a latina women trying to get into engineering and have a 4.0 and a decent SAT scores puts you miles ahead of others. you have very good ec’s. i would say stanford and caltech might be low reaches cause of ur SAT, but you still might get into them. You seem to have good chances with the rest of your schools. good luck. chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1684824-chance-me-to-virginia-tech-georgia-tech-cal-poly-uiuc-usc-uc-berkeley-industrial-engineering.html#latest

Just want to point out the Stanford engineering does not have gender bias in admission.
