Please chance me for George Washington University?

Hi! Could someone chance me for George Washington University? Acceptance as well as the possibility of merit aid.

I have a 3.95 unweighted GPA, close to a 4.7/5.0 weighted GPA. I took all honors classes in freshman and sophomore year, 4 AP classes in junior year (the max allowed at one time), and for my senior year I have dual enrolled full time at a university near where I live. I took 4 college classes last semester (all A’s except for one B in Honors Precalculus) plus a high school class, and then I have taken 3 college classes and one high school class this semester. I’m set to be valedictorian of my class when I graduate this spring. I plan to major in Middle East Studies at the Elliot school, and two of the college classes that I have taken are Arabic 1001 and Arabic 1002.

My EC’s are probably the area that I’m weakest in. I have learned Spanish, Italian, and French through extracurricular classes (I paid for them myself through babysitting), I did karate for 3 years, and I spent the summer before my junior year teaching English as a Second Language classes and helping students study for their GED’s. Each week I also help pack care packages for troops overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. I really don’t have any clubs or leadership stuff.

I didn’t take the SAT, but my ACT scores are Math: 29, Science: 33, English: 35, Reading: 36, and Composite: 33. One of my recommendations was great, the other was okay. My essay for the Common App was fantastic and I had it checked over a dozen times. The supplemental application for why I chose GW was great, too. Probably the strongest essay I wrote for any of my colleges. I made sure to mention that GW was my first choice and I have a visit planned for the end of February.

I’m just worried about my lack of EC’s and the fact that I applied Regular Decision. It took me so long to narrow down my college list that I’m worried my not doing ED will affect my acceptance and merit aid. Honestly, any sort of scholarship will help.

please tell me you are joking?

Dude, I rarely say this to anyone, but you are a match for George Washington. No way are you going to be denied there. There are lots of financial aid possibilities at GWU. All freshmen are eligible for stated scholarships on their website. Also, they do give need-based aid, the average of which last year was over $36,000 a year according to their website (that does include loans). Since cost seems to be important to you, you should find some other colleges that you would be happy attending. You will want to compare offers.

Yeah, no I wasn’t kidding. I ended up leaving everything to the last possible second because of my indecision, stress over finals for my classes, retaking the ACT, and then just generally being swamped with my home life. I’m also a terrible procrastinator. I managed to get in the application for GW, as well as two other schools, just in time. Most of the other deadlines have already passed for other schools, and GW is my first choice. And I’m one of those people that worries about everything, even though I try not to. Thank you for your help, stepay.
