<p>Okay so here goes...I've posted a few chance threads before, but none for Georgetown. I honestly don't think I stand a chance so here goes nothing </p>

<p>I want to major in history or politics so I'm hoping my science grades dont' weigh me down as much as I think they will. I go a public school in CT that is nationally ranked and sends many kids to Ivy Leagues and Top LAC's. I haven't taken my SAT's yet(will be doing so in March). My expected score is around a 1950/2000. Also my course load is in the top 3% for challenging. I have some kick ass recomendations lined up and my essays will be good as well. </p>

<p>whats your GPA? how affected is it by the sciences?
and your EC’s and everything looks pretty good!
if u can bump ur sat scores a little u should have a good chance!

<p>because you’re not interested in majoring in a science related field, your poor grades in physics/chem etc will not hurt you, imo. your language grade, however might. your extra curriculars are a little trite. i am referring to the founding of the young democrats club. however, some of them are pretty interesting, and will probably be a major plus come application time. forming a discussion group on current wars is one of those ec’s, i would highlight that in the form of an essay or whatever. and i think the main thing that sets you apart is the languages - its pretty awesome that you speak so many languages!! when did you start learning? as a kid? its a main plus, btw. In my opinion, you have a very strong chance at Georgetown, if your SAT scores and all that are up to par. I have a few friends that go there, and their EC’s defff did not have the same depth as yours and their grades were pretty much the same. good luck!</p>

<p>my gpa is around a 3.6 u.w. i really hope i can bump up my SAT’s. I will be taking them in March and again in the fall of freshman year. Hopefully my superscore can get me around a 2100. i started learning languages basically from the time i was born. i come from a very diverse family and one of the pluses is growing up around people speaking different languages! thanks for all of your chances so far.</p>

<p>ehh its a stretch with your grades but if you get good SAT scores then it should be match to low reach…

<p>I agree with everyone else. It looks like a high match to low reach school for you. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were accepted particularly if you do a bit better on SAT. Are you going to take the ACT?</p>

<p>As of now mid reach, sat above 2000-2100 or act 31 or better and you’re a match. </p>

<p>I think you will get in. Your GPA looks great. It may be a bit of a reach as of now, but if your test scores come back as high as you say, I think you’ll get in.</p>

<p>I think its a high mathc. Your EC"s make up a bit for any blemsihes. Just make sure you at least hit the 1900s on the SATs and I’d say you have a decent shot.

<p>I think its a match… youre fluent in 6 languages!!! Georgetown will loooooooooove that.
They love languages, I’d highlight that somehow in youre app bigtime.</p>

<p>I think your chances are pretty good, should you aim for a score >2100.
Georgetown is obviously a more social sciences oriented school, so try to distinguish yourself from those applicants by emphasizing the non-pol/econ/etc. parts of your app. </p>

<p>Definitely a high match. ECs are very good but possible low SAT will definitely hurt you… with good essays/ recs you should have a very good chance of getting in.</p>

<p>Hey guys, I would be extremely grateful if someone could chance me for Georgetown (College).</p>

<p>I am an international transfer student though so please keep that in mind:</p>

<p>Highschool from the Subcontinent: Extremely good A’Level grades. Basically, 3rd in a class of 300. Great activities and tons of community service with a great deal of involvement in the Debating and Dance societies. Also, Class Valedictorian.</p>

<p>Now, I am studying at one of Canada’s most prestigious Universities. GPA: 3.75

  • Again, great deal of extra curricular involvement and community service.</p>

<p>fluent in seven languages, lived in 5 countries.</p>

<p>SAT 1: 1350/1600</p>

<p>Ambitious essay, decent recommendation (my school is really big so profs generally dont know students well).</p>
