Please Chance me for GW Business!

I am applying for International Business and Chinese EDII. I am a white female from Texas.

I also interviewed with an admissions representitive last month. I think it went alright. I guess I will see....

GPA: 3.73/4.22 (UW/ Weighted)
ACT: 32 Combined (31 English, 33 Math, 30 Science, 33 Reading, 9 Writing)
RANK: 23/522 (Top 4% of Class)
AP's:
World History 5
US History 5
English Lang 5
Human Geo 5
AP Euro 3 (not submitted)

I am taking 5/6 more AP's my senior year- (my school limits the ones you can take up until that point) APBio, AP Calc BC, AP Psych, AP English Lit, AP Gov, AP Econ.

ECS:

Spanish Club (9-12) President (11-12)
Debate Club (10-12) President (11-12)
Model UN (9-12) Treasurer (11) President (12)
Math Tutor (11-12)
Teen Court Attorney (9-12)
Samaritan Inn Volunteer (9-12)
This summer I did volunteer work in China tutoring children in English (over 100 hours worth)

Unfortunately, my school cut its Chinese program due to budget cuts, but I am very interested in Chinese. I wish that could come across more in my application.

Awards:

AP Scholar with Distinction (11)
National Commended Scholar (11)
National Forensics League (9-12) Degree of Special Distinction
National Debate/Speech Tournament Qualifier International Extemp.
National Honor Society (11-12)

Any ideas for my chances would be awesome! I am applying EDII because I am applying to NYU Stern EDI, completely under the expectation to be rejected. I fell in love with GW however, and I hope I am not ruining my chance at GW by not applying EDI (I kinda feel like im cheating on George Washington lol)

Another chance thread. I used to be obsessed with it when I was in the process of transferring.

Hard to say, but in my opinion I’d say you fall into the competitive pile meaning you have a good shot of getting an offer.

If you made your summer volunteer experience at China standout to the admission committee I’m sure they’ll be in your favor.

If you have any questions related specifically to the IBUS program or Chinese let me know, you can send me a PM as well.

Good Luck.

ACT? Great/very good.

GPA? Good.

Extracurriculars? Fine. A little average or weak, but ok. At least shows some leadership.

4 APs so far? Low. Adding 5 more? Good, if you can keep the GPA up.

From Texas? Good. That’s a bit of a hook. Not as many applicants from the south.

White Female? That’s a shame.

You’ll likely get in with good essays. Or, at least have a good chance of it. The only thing a bit weak is your ECs and being a white female. ACT makes up for it. GPA is good enough.

I would even dare to say you have a chance at NYU as well. Not particularly strong or unique extracurriculars, but great ACT and good GPA… from Texas. Apply to GW & NYU.
