My rec letters are phenomenal, and I intended to have interviews when I submit my Common App. Based on my geographic location, I don't really have a chance to get to do research in pretigious universities and such, but I think I have made the most out of my limited opportunities. Please give me an honest opinion of my chances (I know its a crapshoot for most of these schools). Thank you in advance!

You seem to have a strong academic and EC background. Beyond that, the best thing you can do right now is to continue perfecting and polishing your essays, and make sure you’re proud of them.

Anyone else? Opinions are welcomed! :)

I would honestly say do not list all those EC’s if u do nit actually have a passion for each and every singke one. It just looks like u stacked your EC’s. Remember, depth over breadth

Bummmmppppp :P

I do not believe any of the colleges you have listed superscore the ACT. I would check with them.

As far as the 7 AP classes in senior year are concerned, quality is always better than quantity. Your mediocre performance on the AP Tests (4,4,4,5) in junior year may not inspire an adcom to think you will do any better on 7 in senior year. I believe this is a major weakness in your application. I would consider schools below the Ivy League, Stanford and MIT class as high reaches.

As far as your chances, you’ll be one of thousands of premeds who have done esssentially the same things and all sound alike. Geographic diversity may be your strongest asset.

People on this site often recommend Alabama for great merit aid. You actually are in-state. Seriously consider the advantages of being debt-free for med school application and don’t think you need a prestigious name on your diploma in order to get into med school. It’s ok to apply if 7 APs are leaving you with too much spare time and you enjoy writing essays. But you really don’t need to.

Bump. Anyone else? :P

Harvard and Princeton, = high reaches. Duke, Vandy, JHU = reaches, Emory = match. EC’s scream volume over substance. Agree re focusing on a view that you have excelled at.
