I am a high school junior looking at Ivy League schools and other top tier colleges. My current short list is Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Carnegie Mellon, but would definitely consider others. I’m just interested in getting other opinions on how my chances stand. Here’s what I got:
White male, suburban Boston
ACADEMICS:
GPA: 96.8% (9), 96.5% (10), 96.7% (11, so far)
SAT: 2390 (800 W, 800 M, 790 CR), no subject tests yet
Class rank is unofficially top 1% (at best an estimate as we won’t report it)
Courseload: all three of my years have been the hardest possible course load at my high school
9th: 4 honors, including pre-calculus
10th: 4 honors, 1 AP (Calc BC, 5 on exam)
10th summer: AP Stats
11th: 3 honors + 3 APs (Chem, Physics C, Spanish), Linear Algebra (through JHU), will also take AP Com Sci and Stats exams
Plan for 11th summer: Multivariable Calc
Plan for 12th: Humanities (our senior English class), Econ, Ap bio, anatomy and physiology, Latin 2, differential equations
EC’s:
Stage crew --> construction, technical work, stage productions, I have been a leader here since the beginning o my tenure, technical director for one show (10,11)
Math team, leader during junior year (9,10,11)
Science team (11)
Jazz band --> electric bass (9,10,11)
Marching band --> electric bass (9,10,11)
Worship team at church --> acoustic, electric, bass guitars, keyboards (9,10,11), an interesting highlight of this was playing at a service we held for all our campuses at Tsongas Arena (seats 5000), scary, but unforgetable experience (9,10,11)

Full time intern with school district tech department over the summer, 8+ hour days (10)
