SAT II: 800 Math 2, 780 Bio 760 Chem
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.92 UW
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Top 5%, very rigorous public high school in MA.
AP (place score in parenthesis): 7 total. AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Physics C, AP Stat, AP Calc BC, AP English Language, AP Chinese (all 5, but 4 on physics)

Senior Year Course Load: Calc 3, AP Computer Science, Symphony Orchestra, AP English, AP Environmental

Awards: National Merit semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, MUN awards at conferences.

Extracurriculars: MUN (4 years and also club VP), Math Club, HOSA president national qualifier. (Ive been in it for 3 years)

Job/Work Experience:
Assistant at dentist office 40 hrs/week.

Volunteer/Community service:
6 hrs/week at hospital volunteer

My common app is connecting my disability with my hospital work and how it inspired me to want to go into the heath sciences.

Teacher Rec #1: AP Physics—said I was a good student and I did well in the class. He liked me. Said that I have an extraordinary mind and one of the brightest students he’s ever had.

Teacher Rec #2: AP Chinese—She liked me well enough and though that I worked hard.

Counselor Rec: Generic. 8/10.

I know I didnt get 5s on everything, and my ACT could be higher, but I’m hopeful that I’ll get in. Thanks in advance, I will chance back.

Ivy leagues differ a lot. It’d be helpful to know which ones you’re applying to. I’d say yo’ve got a good chance get in to some of the lower, easier to get in to ivies, like brown, cornell, Upenn, or dartmouth. Once you get above those, It’s just a chance or no chance. You’ve got a shot at any of them, although it gets slim for the top ones, like it does for everyone. While your academics look strong, your ECs are a little lacking, but maybe harp on working a a dentist to support your family, instead of doing ECs as a reason you want to get all to opportunities to explore ECs that colleeg offers, or something. @waswaswasnt Columbia is not a top ivy. The top ivies are HYP. Columbia and Penn are in the middle, then finally Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell.

@htmll0vr You are competitive for any of the ivies, but of course like everyone else your chances are better at say Conrell than Harvard, like everyone else.
