You seem like an intelligent and accomplished student. Any reason why your SAT score is on the low side?

Do you think they will hinder me

Well, this is how I interpret it. You’re second in your class, which should mean that you’re a highly gifted student. Most highly gifted students have SAT scores of at least 2000. So, I’m questioning the academic rigor of your school. How can somebody with a 1890 SAT and 4s on AP exams be salutatorian in a competitive school?

Now, these are all generalizations; take no offense to them. Have you studied for the SAT? Do you plan on retaking? I was able to raise my score by 150 points after preparing 30 minutes/week. I’d say you should shoot for a 2000+, then you’ll be practically guaranteed admissions. :)
