Please chance me for NYU

I'm a Junior in high school, going to take my SATs for the first time this January (2014) and my ACT for the first time this April (2014).

I took my PSATs as a Sophomore last year and got an expected SAT score of 1890 (due to my scores). I know I did a LOT better on PSATs this year because I studied for it. I'm waiting for my PSAT scores to be posted on the second week of December, so will post back once I get it.

FRESHMAN YEAR:
Ranked 5 out of 98
3 Honors courses
1st Semester GPA: 4.43
2nd Semester GPA: 4.66

SOPHOMORE YEAR:
Ranked 6 out of 96
3 Honors classes
1st Semester GPA: 4.43
2nd Semester GPA: 4.38

JUNIOR YEAR:
No ranking yet, but 1 out of 3 Juniors who received straight As for first quarter
1 Honors class
1st Semester GPA: 4.24
No 2nd Semester GPA yet

I chose to focus more on my extracurriculars this year as I have had barely any extracurriculars in Freshman and Sophomore year. That's why I dropped two AP courses (my school only offers two AP courses per year) and stuck to Honors Algebra II. I am getting an A+ in that Honors class and all As in my other classes.

EXTRACURRICULARS:
VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE of a Junior Achievement student-made company
SECRETARY of Future Educators of America (running for president next year)
Member of Interact Club
Member of Soroptomist Club
Member of Green Club
Over 200 hours of community service so far
Member of Filipino club
National Honor Society candidate (induction is this January)
Member of Student Council
Sold pink lemonade during school hours to raise money for breast cancer
Earth Team Volunteer
Coral Reef Watch Volunteer

I live in a U.S. territory, and I am striving to make myself more known in my community

PLEASE chance me for NYU. I really do want to get in! Wanting to major in BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.

Calculate your cumulative unweighted gpa for academic courses, more useful.

NYU: high match :)

bump…

@thebeatlestoday really?! Thank you SO much! :)

Your weighted Gpa’s are useless in terms of information unless we know what courses are offered at your school and how they weight them, your cumulative unweighted gpa along with maybe some type of ranking for your school is probably the best in terms of knowing where you stand with respect to others, also the fact you got a 4.6+ gpa and were still ranked 6 out of 96, make me think grades at your school are possibly inflated.

Also that “member of club” garbage is useless, you can pretty much join any club or claim to be a member of any club at any given moment in time, it doesn’t really mean anything.

Suppose you get a 1900+, and your uw GPA is 3.8, then I’d say it’s a high match.

Chance me?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1575443-chance-me-my-ed-ea-hyp-mit-please-will-chance-back.html

Ok, I just calculated my cumulative unweighted GPA, and it’s a 3.98.

bump 10 char!

Awesome GPA! Just shoot for 2000+ on the SAT.
