Please Chance me for Prep Schools!

Hello Everyone! I am applying to prep schools for my sophomore year. Here is the basics:

Academics

7th Grade
GPA: 3.78

8th Grade
GPA: 3.83

I'm going into 9th grade this year and I'm taking all honors so I'm hoping I will do good. =)

Extra-Curricular Activities

Sports: Cross Country(3 years), Dance(5 years), Track & Field(1 year)

Instruments: Clarinet(5 years)

Clubs: Ambassadors(2 years)

I plan on joining a couple of clubs in High School since my middle school did not have really any clubs or activities. I plan on taking piano lessons and continue running cross country and doing dance. As for community service, I plan on volunteering after school for the hospital and humane society.

Please chance me! =)

You seem like a pretty good candidate. What schools are you applying to?

@simplypreppy,
Have you ever taken the SSAT before? You seem like a good candidate, though no one on this website can tell you whether or not you will get into a prep school. That is the job of the admission office. Good luck.

@rizzledrizzle; I can only apply to about 2-3 schools due to the cost of applications. My list of schools I’ve come down to is: Andover, Choate, Exeter, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, and Loomis Chaffee. Most of those schools are hard to get into but I’m not really sure about any others. Thank you for replying! =)

@ifax108; Thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind. Thank you for replying! =)

You are right that most of the schools on your list are very competitive. Considering you do not have any very unique interest in particular, most good boarding schools will have what you are looking for. What caught my eye was your interest in cross country. I can tell you that Blair Academy’s cross country team was great this past year. I am not telling you to apply there, but I think you should consider it because it is less competitive than the other schools you mentioned. Lastly, I do not know what your family income is, but some schools may wave the application fee if you can’t afford it. I think family income should be under 30K a year, but that could vary from school to school. Good luck!
