Please chance me for Regular Decision! I'm freaking out.

So I absolutely love UGA, and it's really the ONLY college I feel like I could reach my career goals in PLUS they have the majors/minors I want.
I want to major in Cellular Biology and dance, and minor in nutrition science, which no other college has.
However, I am below their stats and as much as I try my best to make good grades, show my interest, raise my test scores, I'm losing hope after yesterday's ACT test.

UGA GPA: 3.61. (Hopefully would be 3.72-3.77 by December after first semester)
ACT scores: THEY SUCK. 22 Math 27 English 27 Reading 23 Science 10 writing 28 E/W combined
AP/Honors classes: 9 AP's 1 honors
EC's: I dance 25-30 hours a day, over 200 hours community service, 3rd chair flute, leader of my children's church ministry, member of NHS and Key Club, tutor middle school students (They only want you to list 5)
Awards/Honors: Numerous dance scholarships (even a well-known one), Most improved woodwind player, Most Outstanding French student, FLAG superior rating (Highest rating from the foreign language association of GA), AP Scholar with Honor, (can only list 4)
Essays: Should be really good, I'm great at writing.
Teacher rec: Should be AMAZING. I conquered many adversities last year and we connected really well.
Counselor rec: Should be okay, I mean he doesn't know me of course, but I wrote some great things on my questionnaire that should set me apart.
Senior schedule: AP Statistics AP Lit AP Environmental Human Anatomy, AP Macro, AP Psych, French, Band
I'm a URM female

The thing that's REALLY lacking I know are the test scores, and I only have one more shot at getting the 29+ I need for Georgia. I've done bad on all three ACT's, June, September, and October (I just know I did). I've had REALLY messed up geometry/algebra teachers that really screwed me over for the math test. Realistically I want this combination of scores.

27 math 31 english 31 reading 30 science
OR
25 math 33 English 30 reading 30 science
OR 27 math 30 English 29 reading 28 science.

Either combo gets me where I need to be. I'm getting a tutor for the December test to really increase my scores cause I know I could get it. (If you have tips let me know)

I'm running straight A's and one B in 4 AP classes this year with a schedule of all core classes with French.

However, my Freshman and Sophomore years hold me back. I only got a 3.5 my Freshman year, and I SCREWED my Sophomore year getting depressed and getting a 3.3 which I explain in my application. (No C's though). Junior year I got back on track and got a 3.9. So recalculated with All A's and one B senior year I should get a 3.72, and with A's a 3.77.

UGA is my only shot at actually going somewhere I actually want to go to. I want to go to Emory, I'm applying to Tech, and Mercer, and Kennesaw, Georgia State etc. But I know I won't get into Emory or Tech and I don't really want to go to the others. Right now it's the only thing I've got to fight for.

Be as honest as you can and give me tips on how my application could be better.
Thanks.

As you said get that ACT score up its not hard to do if you study. UGA primarily looks at class rigor and gpa both of which are well within range for you. Have you tried taking the SAT?

Yeah :frowning: I do even worse on the SAT to be honest…

Well to give you hope it’s not hard to bring them up. I got a 1670 first round. I set aside 2 hours of study time with the princeton review sat book (it’s better than the college board one because it tells you why you got it wrong) and got a 2000. You’ll be fine you just have to focus a little. Youre not far off

*2 hours a week not 2 hours total hahaha

Here’s last year’s averages for your reference. Good luck!
