Hey guys. Okay. So, I'm a senior this year and I really, REALLY would like to attend Columbia University. However, I'm not confident in my SAT score (1160 out of 1600/1810 out of 2400) or my GPA. This is because
1). I'm a really bad test taker and...
2). I transfered to a different, more challenging high school in 11th grade. My current high school is ranked among the top 10 in the nation (if that makes a difference). Also, this is the top school in my state.

Anyway, thank you in advance for your responses.

GPA:
Weighted-4.68
Unweighted-3.58
Class Rank-Valedictorian (At old school). At my new school, they do not rank students because we are some of the best in the state. Therefore, it wouldn't be fair.

I did have an interview and I really expressed that I wanted to go to Columbia. I don't think I over did it but I feel that the interviewer got the message. Lol. Also, my essays were pretty good, or so I've heard. I had them critiqued by so different people.
Sooo...will Columbia take into consideration the high school that I come from? And could the letter help in anyway. Please be honest. I know my stats aren't amazing but I'm so passionate about going. And I am African American, but I don't want to rely on my race to solve the problem, which I'm sure it won't help tremendously. So thanks again.
